“One of the soldiers must have spilled it out and I caught wind of it” Veral lied before she hugged Sloane and placed a kiss on his forehead.
“Let’s talk about something else, the rogue’s attack scares me” she claimed and Sloane just smiled.
They walked to his chamber holding hands
But I was there with them, just that they couldn’t see me.
“When will I see you again after this trip?” Sloane asked and Vera told him she is gone for good this time because she got admission to study her
masters course.
Sloane was not impressed by her response. “Seline used her witchcraft to manipulate you and make you leave but now that you know, why apply for admission so far away?”
“Come on Sloane, you know it’s been my dream to study acting. professionally. Now I have got the privilege, besides Seline never influenced my decision”
Sloane was speechless, his eyes widened in shock.
“How do you mean Vera? I thought Seline used her powers to manipulate you and you got scared?” Sloane tried to argue.
“You said Seline even threatened to kill you, if you did not leave” he added. and Vera laughed nervously.
“I just needed a perfect excuse to leave, and it was all just a joke. But I thought you knew?” She said still laughing
“Such a foolish act. One simple performance from Vera and my whole life. was shattered till the moment I was killed”
Vera saw the look of disgust plastered on Sloane’s face, so she kissed his lips and told him to come off it.
“Why are you making mountains out of molehills? Just believe me. It was. an act and I paid no attention to it. Plus Seline kept hovering over you, so I thought of making her regret it. I never knew you would take it that seriously ”
Vera’s words made no sense to Sloane, so she tried to tease him, hugging him tightly from behind and whispering into his ears that she thought the bedrock of every marriage was trust, why was he doubting me?

- BN. “Please don’t tell me you don’t trust Seline, she is your wife for crying out. loud” Vera kept on teasing him but it only made Sloane more frustrated. He was so terrified, like a ghost had appeared before him.
Sloane harshly removed Vera’s hands from his body as he dragged her to the wall and pinned her there. His eyes were blazing with so much anger, Veral could not believe it. His breath was coming out in ragged gasp and Vera tried. to free herself but Sloane had her just where he wanted.
“Stop this madness Sloane, put me down now” she protested but he just further tightened his hold on her neck.
In a swift movement, he slammed her against the wall again. The little. drama was a reminder of our wedding night that he accused me of chasing Vera away, the pain, the disappointment in his eyes as he held me against the
wall.
It was supposed to make me happy that Vera was feeling exactly the way I her. The way he held her, made
felt that night, but Sloane was not done.
me wonder if he could truly end her?
Soon a guard walked by, and caught the alpha strangling a woman “Alpha, Alpha” he called out, his head bowed towards the ground. A subtle reminder that he was the leader and should not be seen in such positions.
The remaining pack soldiers rushed towards the place and relieved Vera from the grip of the alpha. They were taken aback. The alpha was never known. to be aggressive or abusive.
The head of the pack soldiers was the only one who could ask the alpha what the lady had done. But Vera quickly told them that the alpha and her were only having a descriptive conversation that might lead to a more intimate affair. She joked to lighten the mood but the soldiers were not buying it.
“Whatever games or conversation you were having with the Alpha, was definitely not a friendly one” the leader of the soldiers said. Vera knew further interrogation would definitely hold her back so she told them that she was not going to hold anything against the alpha and she wanted to leave because her family was waiting for her and they were leaving the pack.
The
leader of the soldiers told Vera she couldn’t leave because everyone in the palace was being questioned and since she was there, she must stay behind.
Vera became angry, insisting she must leave the palace immediately, but would return back after her trip. Her request was denied, so she dashed

She was taken to the cell and locked up. “Sloane, you are alpha. Say something, ask them to leave me alone. I am not some prisoner” Vera begged
Sloane just looked indifferent, not even uttering a word.
“Alpha, what do we do? One of the soldiers asked and Sloane told them to follow the due procedure.
