Part Five: You Witch
“Take it easy Alpha, maybe you should take a look at the list first. It is not certain yet, because….” Collins began to stutter and then handed the list over to Sloane.
Collins moved close to Sloane and held his hand, gently squeezing it to assure the alpha that they were there to support him, and would ensure the rogue wolves were caught and dealt with.
Sloane glanced at the list as fast as his eyes could scan through.
“Seline Jade, is the white wolf that is missing?” he yelled out. His voice. sounded like thunder, everyone around shuddered.
“This cannot be true, Seline is not dead” Sloane began to fall slowly, his eyes darting everywhere in the room in a circular motion.
“This is a nightmare happening right before my eyes. No, No way. There must be a mistake somewhere. Ask the soldiers to double check all the white wolves” Sloane was already losing balance and falling before Collins quickly supported him, leading him to the chair close to the table.
“Alpha, believe me, the remaining white wolves were all presented before the soldiers to verify the list and it’s only the Luna that is missing. I know it’s not what you expected but you need to calm down“. Collins tried to pacify Sloane.
Sloane held Collins, his eyes almost watery. He took deep breaths in and out, making himself calm.
“Is this list for real? Or has Seline bribed you into pulling some kind of sick prank on me?” His words were laced with so much suspicion.
Collins‘ jaw dropped, his eyes blazing in surprise. “Alpha I know things. aren’t rosy between Seline and you but why would you ever think I would trivialise such information?” Collins asked Sloane, still grounded in shock.
“Seline is manipulative and unpredictable, I wouldn’t be surprised if she put you up to this“. Sloane was clearly frustrated.
“Seline is the reason I lost the first woman I ever loved. She tricked her into believing I was bad and the poor lady ran for her dear life. So this will not be the first time she is pulling such a stunt with others just to get to me” Sloane. added.

pierced my heart but I couldn’t give in to pain. Instead I laughed bitterly. Little did I know his hatred for me had been growing for a long time coming.
My face had a weak smile plastered on it, the love and affection I thought I felt was just a lie.
It was love at first sight the moment I set my eyes on Sloane. When he was introduced to the pack as the future alpha that just returned from training, my
heart melted.
Unknown to me, Sloane was having an affair with the daughter of the betal Vera. No one, not even I knew about it. So it was easy for me to just follow my heart and become the dutiful girlfriend who made Sloane never lacked anything.
I never relente
for almost a year trying to prove my worth to Sloane, until the day he told me to drop the “act” that I was no good for him. My heart shattered and just when I decided to move on, put the broken pieces back together, Sloane unexpectedly asked me to become his girlfriend officially. It felt like a dream come true, even though he only said the relationship was on probability.
After candle light dinner to celebrate my victory of capturing Sloane’s heart, I found out he had been rejected by Vera and the pain was so unbearable, he decided to use me to pass the moment. He even tried to get
her back but all his efforts were wasted.
The day Vera left the pack for good, Sloane with his position and Valor stooped so low, holding the garment of Vera with tears in his eyes, pleading for her to give him another chance. I was shocked and felt humiliated on his
behalf.
Vera must have said something to Sloane about me moments before she walked away. Because, their gaze was fixed on me. Whatever it was, left Sloane feeling defeated and sad.
Sloane looking like a man that just escaped death walked wearily to where was standing watching their little drama unfold and said to me.
“At least, I am not left with nothing”
Love had clouded my judgement, and watching Vera leave gave me some kind of relief. Sloane was now mine alone or so I foolishly thought. It was now left for me to totally captivate him and make him happy. I will either get it right or die trying, I swore to myself.

needed to forge ahead. Collins and the other soldiers that were close to Sloane made it easy for me, always telling me how much Sloane and I were compatible. Everything happened so fast that we were on the altar saying “I do“. We have forever now, I thought to myself. How hard could it be to win him. over completely?
The honeymoon was hell, Sloane almost drank his life away and just when I expected it all to be passionate and romantic, he accused me of being the one that made Vera reject him.
I was stunned but before I could speak, Sloane further blamed me for agreeing to marry him and said I was worthless. “Now I can never be happy, Vera went away with my heart, so there is nothing more for you to enjoy”
I stood frozen, unable to utter any word. And just as I suspected, he took my silence for remorse and immediately he pinned me to the wall.
“You witch, you scared Vera away and now she has left the pack”
“You are nothing but a distraction, something to pass the time since Vera left me. You will never take her place or be worthy”
It all made sense to me, whatever Vera told him before she left the pack. where all lies and unfortunately Sloane believed her.
Soon Sloane fell on the bed, his snore reaching each room in the castle. I was left alone, feeling the ache on my back when he pinned me to the wall. Nothing I could do at that moment, nothing I said would make any sense. The only thing that mattered was that Vera left him and it was because of me.
