The Divorced queen Ch 17

Chapter 17

Lisa’s brant sank; this was a clear warning from Cyril I can give up everything else, but I can’t lose the title of Mrs. Banks she thought

She pleaded, Cyril, please, you’ve got to believe me. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I just wanted to get closer to you. Hurting Trina was never my intention.”

Cyril rubbed his forehead, realizing he had no right to blame Liuhe was just as guilty. He’d dealt a cruel blow to Trina himself. I’m not taking down that trending post. It’s the least we owe her, and we need to deal with the consequencesWith that, he hung up the phone

Trina had won this battle easily, and for the past week, she’d been riding high. Even Truman taking two of her chess pieces didn’t bother her

It was time for her prenatal checkup

Worried about her going alone, Esmond and Helen sent Truman to accompany her

Thanks to Truman, everything went smoothly at the hospital

In the ultrasound room, when Trina saw her baby clearly for the first time, she couldn’t help but smile

The doctor moved the scanner over her abdomen, pointing things out on the screen. The baby’s developing really well. Take a look.”

Trina gazed at the image, her heart full of love for the tiny life inside her. It wasn’t even fully formed yet, but in her mind, she promised, Baby, I’ll do everything to keep you safe and healthy. Even without a father, I’ll uke care of you. Don’t worry

After the scan, the doctor handed her the report, saying, You’re still not in great shape. You’re too weak, and you’re severely anemic. The stress you’ve been under is taking a toll on your body

He adjusted his glasses and gave her a serious look. You need more rest, and you’ve got to find ways to relax. If you don’t, the baby could suffer from anemia too.”

Trina was

caken aback but nodded. She thought she’d been hokling up preaty well, but it seemed her body had a different story to tell

So much had happened recently, and it had worn her down more than she realized. She was only hanging on to avoid worrying about her family: As she walked out of the ultrasound room, still a bit dazed. Truman rushed up to her, concern all over his face. What’s wrong? Is everything okay?Trina quickly put on a cheerful smile and playfully nudged him. Can’t you just wish me well! The doctor said everything’s fine, the baby’s doing grealTM

Truman sighed with relief and teased her, If I didn’t wish you well, Mom and Dad would never let me hear the end of it, you know that, right? Then he paused, his tone softening. But hey, you only said the haby’s healthy. How about you? How’re you holding up?”

Trina avoided his gaze, still smiling as they headed outside. Me? I’m fine, better than ever. I’m so strong, I could wrestle a bull if I had to.Truman was about to make another joke when he noticed someone familiar in the crowd

Fredhe called out, loud enough to be heard

The man in the suit at the payment counter turned, surprised. Truman Trina? What’re you doing here?”

Trina turned. ber smile lighting up. FredWhen did you get back?”

Fred Salazar quickly walked over, smiling Just recently. I haven’t had a chance to come visit you guys yet. Crazy running into you here.He looked around, his expression turning a bit concerned. What’s up? Why are you at the hospital?”

Truman explained, We’re here for Trina’s prenatal checkup. What about you!”

Fred’s face briefly showed disappointment, but he quickly recovered. Ah, my mom wasn’t feeling well, so I came to get her some meds.” He turned to Trina, his eyes widening Wow, Trina, you’ve really grown up. You’re gonna be a mom now. Congratulations.”
