Burton frowned, his expression becoming serious. “Trovan, Rosie is my daughter. How we choose to teach her is o concern: you shouldn’t interfere.”
“If it wasn’t for my fear of Aury being mistreated, do you think I’d care about your family’s affairs?” Trovan angrily pulled back his hand. “Anyway, since Aury isn’t even related to you by blood, she might as well move into our home and become my daughter.”
“Uncle Trovan.” Aurora softly began her face revealing her undeniable anxiety. “Roseanne has secured many partnerships for Graham Group. She inherited Dad’s high intelligence and is naturally very capable. Please don’t misunderstand her.”
Once she finished speaking, she cautiously glanced at Roseanne, her gaze carrying a hint of complexity.
Trovan sneered, “She’s nothing but a truant and troublemaker who couldn’t even get into high school! High intelligence? Hah! It’s a wonder she doesn’t feel the slightest bit embarrassed!”
“Hold your tongue.” Henry shot a warning glance at Trovan before turning his serious gaze toward Roseanne. “Divorce wouldn’t be good for either family, and besides. Old Mr. Graham has already said that after his death, you’ll be the one in charge of the corporation. With us by your side, the Scott family’s daughter won’t be able to stir up any trouble. If they wish to move to Egrea, let them.”
This promise was quite enticing
With Roseanne in charge of Graham Group, that would be equivalent to it belonging to the Sylvester family.
It was then inevitable that they would rise above the other three prominent families, eventually securing their place at the top of the Four Prominent Families.
Burton furrowed his brows. “Dad, you’re oversimplifying things. Rosie was forced to sign a prenuptial agreement before her marriage. They never considered Rosie as part of the family to begin with. Brandon is unreliable, so Old Mr. Graham just wants Rosie to continue working herself to the bone for Graham Group. He’s just painting a rosy picture for you.”
Claire nodded in agreement and added. “Why should my daughter continue to work for their family when Brandon has been unfaithful: I don’t agree with Rosie returning. This marriage must end.”
“If it was Aury, even if she were divorced, there would be a line of men chasing after her. However, it’s Roseanne. Who could she possibly marry after divorce?” There was a hint of annoyance between Henry’s brows as he slammed his cane on the ground. “I’m not dead yet, so I’m the one who calls the shots in this household”
As soon as these words were spoken, the expressions of several people instantly soured, with only Trovan showing a face of
agreement
Claire’s heart ached as she saw her biological daughter being targeted, unable to even make her own decisions about her divorce. She muttered under her breath. “If Rosie hadn’t been switched at birth and had grown up in the Sylvester family. would you still look down on her?”
Unintentional as the words were, they made Aurora’s eyes well up with tears. She quickly lowered her gaze, biting her lip hard
Seeing that. Trovan put on a stern face. “Claire, what are you talking about? Aury is innocent!”
Claire looked at Aurora, whose face was downcast. She held Aurora’s hand, her expression apologetic as she said, “Aury, that’s not what I meant
Aurora didn’t want to cry, but she just couldn’t hold back her tears. Sobbing, she said, “I’m sorry, Mom. It’s all my fault.”
When Claire had stood up for her, a subtle, strange sensation welled up in Roseanne’s heart. It was somewhat warm, but before she could fully grasp this emotion, it quickly faded away.
Ultimately, when it came down to her and Aurora, Claire chose Aurora.
She had understood this principle long ago.
“I didn’t come to discuss the divorce with you, I came to inform you.”

Henry was taken aback.
Aurora also managed to stop h
her tears and lifted her head to stare blankly at Roseanne.

Roseanne reached into her pocket and pulled out a card, taking a few steps forward before setting it down. “There’s sixty million in here. The password is six zeros, This is the dowry you gave me years ago, along with the expenses from that one month I spent here in the Sylvester residence.”
Everyone was stunned.
No one could have guessed that she hadn’t spent a single penny, and not only that, she even added in another ten million, all in an attempt to sever ties with them.
“What nonsense!”
Burton’s face darkened as he met a pair of pitch–black eyes. The reprimand he was about to voice got stuck in his throat.
His intuition told him that if today’s issues weren’t properly resolved, their relationship with her might just end there.
Burton walked over, tentatively placing his hand on her shoulder. “Rosie, you are a daughter of the Sylvester family, and that’s a fact no one can change. As for the divorce, you must reclaim your five hundred million, but we don’t care for the Graham family’s assets”
Roseanne didn’t offer any explanation. All she wanted was 1.5 billion in Azanian currency.
Burton turned around, positioning himself protectively next to Roseanne. “Dad, if you don’t like Rosie, my family can just
move out.”
“Burton!” Henry’s face changed. “Have you all forgotten the rules of the Sylvester family?”
The rules of the Sylvester family were clear: all actions were to prioritize the interests of the Sylvester family, one could not engage in anything that would tarnish the family’s reputation, and they would never move out.
Zachary stood up. “I agree. Since Grandpa and Uncle Trovan don’t welcome Rosie, it wouldn’t hurt to move out. Aury, would you like to come with us or stay here at the Sylvester residence?”
Aurora nervously clutched at her clothes. “Wherever Mom and Dad are, that’s where I’ll g
go
Claire had always felt that her father–in–law was stuck in his traditional ways. She was never fond of staying in this household to begin with. If there was a chance to move out, she’d be the first to agree.
“There’s no need to go to such lengths for my sake,” Roseanne said, her eyes brimming with calmness. “Since Aurora and I were switched at birth, it only proves that she is the rightful daughter of the Sylvester family, not me. Why not let the mistake persist?
Upon hearing Roseanne’s last sentence, a sense of anticipation unexpectedly rose in Aurora’s heart.
She had once secretly returned to her rural hometown to seek out her biological parents.
When they saw her, their eyes had revealed nothing but intense greed, not a hint of joy at finding their real daughter.
Even after having accepted five million from the Sylvester family, they were still not satisfied. They had demanded she provide an additional three million for her younger brother to get married.
Her biological parents favored sons over daughters, a reflection of their traditional mindset.
Her home was in a state of disrepair and utterly filthy.”
At that moment, Aurora was filled with fear and dread, hastily leaving behind two million before she made her escape.
Roseanne was able to thrive even after leaving the Sylvester family, but she couldn’t. She could not bear to leave. If she were to die, she would die within the Sylvester residence.
“Enough!”
If word got out that he didn’t acknowledge his biological granddaughter, Henry would become a laughingstock.

He would not allow such reputation–damaging incidents to occur.

A trace of coldness crossed his face, which was marked by the wrinkles of time. In the end, Henry could only compromise. “After the divorce. Roseanne will move back to the Sylvester residence. As long as she behaves, I won’t interfere in her affairs anymore. However, without passing my test, she has no right to hold shares in Sylvester Group. No one is allowed to privately transfer shares to her either!”
When Aurora had just come of age. Henry had already transferred two percent of the company shares to her. However, when it came to Roseanne, his biological granddaughter, she had to go through a test first.
Zachary was dissatisfied, but under these circumstances, he couldn’t say anything more.
Trovan helped Henry back to his room, leaving only Burton’s family alone in the living rooms.
Claire hesitated before rising to her feet, slowly inching closer. “Rosie, please move back here first?”
Roseanne’s expression was aloof as she responded. “No need. I’m used to being alone.”
Tears welled up in Claire’s eyes.
A touch of gravity had settled on Zachary’s face. “Let’s not rush the matter of Rosie moving back here first. The most pressing matter at hand is to finalize the divorce. Rosie. I can help you find a lawyer-
“Thanks, but there’s no need for that. I’ve found one already, Roseanne interrupted him.
