Chapter 30 A Car Accident
Roseanne gripped the steering wheel, maintaining a steady speed of fifty
She glanced at the map as she approached a bend, noting that a few kilometers ahead lay an intersection – the final turn.
The traffic light turned red
Roseanne eased the car to a stop in the far right lane. Her eyes flicked to the rearview mirror, a cryptic smile tugging at the corners of her lips. As the green light for the right turn illuminated, she made no move to start the car.
Beep!
The black car remained motionless
The driver behind honked impatiently several times
Roseanne remained unmoved.
Frustrated, the driver rolled down his window and shouted, “Hey! Are you blind or deaf up there? Move!”
“D“mn it!” he muttered under his breath, barely holding back his irritation.
Soon, traffic began to spill into the other lanes. As cars passed the stationary black vehicle, drivers couldn’t help but throw a few choice words its way,
Some concerned individuals called the police, fearing the driver might have been involved in an accident, while others, irritated by the obstruction, dialed the authorities as well.
It wasn’t until most of the cars had passed that Roseanne finally began to drive again, smoothly turning right..
Suddenly, a truck appeared in her peripheral vision, barreling toward her.
Roseanne jerked the steering wheel to the left, but to her surprise, another car blocked her path.
The other driver seemed to have lost control, his frantic attempts at steering causing his vehicle to crash into Roseanne’s. The sharp screech of metal against metal filled the air as their cars collided, the two vehicles locked together in a tangled embrace, unable to break free.
Drivers waiting at the red light gasped in alarm, shouting, “Move out of the way!”
But it was too late–the truck, like an unstoppable force, slammed into them with a deafening crash.
Bang!
The black car was violently rear–ended, spinning uncontrollably at the intersection. It crashed into a traffic light pole, then skidded across the pavement for several meters before finally coming to a stop.
The truck driver slammed on the brakes just in time, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic collision.
With a long sigh of relief, the driver unbuckled his seatbelt and picked up his headset. Placing it on, he muttered, “We failed”
“Idiot, you squandered a perfect opportunity. It’s too risky to act at the school!” came the sharp retort.
The man clenched his jaw. “This plan was a last–minute decision. If you hadn’t underestimated the situation and delayed things, I wouldn’t have had to take matters into my own hands. Handle your own mess–if it comes down to it, I’ll take the fall from the top.”
He ripped the earpiece from his head, his gaze darkening as he glanced into the rearview mirror.
The black car smoothly rounded the comer, gradually pulling away from him, its distance growing with each passing second.
In critical moments, instinct drives a person to steer away from danger, and the individual had initially made that choice. He had deliberately positioned himself to block her path.

But she was a skilled driver. As soon as the truck collided with her, she expertly turned the wheel to the right and reversed. with precision:
From the very start, she had a plan. Yet, she had intentionally confronted him, only to dodge at the last moment, leaving hi to take the brunt of the impact.
It was all a deliberate move. This target was far more astute than he had anticipated. No wonder Black Rose had failed
I should have never interfered! I almost lost my life for the money.
Hearing the police sirens in the distance, the man quickly started the car and sped off. Upon reaching the school, Roseanne) exited the vehicle and made her way towards the security room
Ace’s tracking was always reliable–Black Rose was indeed at Yolham First High School.
Taking an innocent life, even accidentally, was a grave offense with severe consequences. In the assassin world. it was understood: a life for a life.
Roseanne wasn’t concerned about Black Rose harming any students. The rules of the trade ensured that such a mistake. wouldn’t happen.
Just as Roseanne was about to knock on the window, she noticed the elderly security guard in his uniform, wiping away tears with his handkerchief. This family is just too cruel. Their daughter’s so sweet, why would they treat her like that?” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
Staring at the tablet in front of him, he sobbed. “The poor girl has lost her mother.”
Roseanne was speechless. She gently tapped on the glass.
The man turned to her, his eyes filled with tears.
“What’s the matter?”
“Sir, could you please open the gate for me? I need to drive in Roseanne asked
He tapped the screen twice with his finger before dabbing his eyes and finally glancing at her. “And who might you be?”
Roseanne nodded, “A student got into a fight, and I’ve been asked to handle it.”
There had been only one altercation recently, which had escalated to the point where parents from Stanney High School had made a scene at the school. Given the circumstances, it wasn’t hard to deduce Roseanne’s identity.
The elderly security guard glanced at her with a hint of curiosity in his eyes. “Are you here for Raymond Sylvester?” he asked. his tone tinged with intrigue.
Roseanne nodded. “Yes”
“Are you his older sister?”
She blurted out, “No.”
Roseanne had expected the man to refuse, but to her surprise, he waved his hand, signaling for her to enter. It was hard not to wonder if the security guard had been bribed by Black Rose.
She drove smoothly through the main entrance. As she rolled past, the security guard’s voice called out, “Take a left in two hundred meters, and you’ll find the parking lot.”
Roseanne offered a polite smile in response, “Thank you, sir.”
The security guard nodded in acknowledgment, watching her drive away. He clicked his tongue twice, muttering. “She seems pretty sharp, too bad she never had a chance for formal education.”
Just as he was about to dive back into his series, a message popped up: Teacher, the experiment has failed again. Please come back quickly.
“Useless!” he muttered, dismissing the notification with a swipe before settling back into his binge–watching session.

Roseanne asked for directions to Brian’s office, and after a brief ten–minute walk, she arrived without anyone tailing her.
As she approached, she saw Albert and the bodyguard standing nearby, which left her momentarily puzzled.
If they’ve been sent, why am I here?
Albert noticed her and immediately broke into a smile, quickly walking toward her. “Ms. Roseanne, you’ve arrived!”
Roseanne kept her expression neutral, not bothering to mask her indifference or engage in pleasantries.
Albert cleared his throat awkwardly before speaking. “Both students‘ parents are quite upset. Mr. Burton mentioned that you have full discretion in handling this matter.”
Roseanne raised an eyebrow, her tone sharp, “I have full discretion?”
Albert hesitated, a cold shiver running down his spine. He had a bad feeling. “Yes,” he replied.
Ms. Roseanne has always been composed. She won’t act recklessly.
Albert breathed a sigh of relief, leading the way. “They’re in the dean’s office.”
Roseanne followed Albert, eventually reaching the dean’s office.
Albert turned to the bodyguard, “Wait outside.”
“Yes, sir.”
Before even stepping through the door, Roseanne could already hear the rising commotion
“Where are the parents? How come they’re not here yet? We’ve been waiting for over an hour!”
“This kid is so reckless–my son’s hand is hurt. How is he supposed to study for his exams now? If I don’t get an explanation. I’m taking this to the Department of Education!”
Brian tried his best to calm them, not even stopping to take a sip of water. “Don’t worry, they’re on their way.”
The dean wiped his brow, visibly sweating as he forced a weak smile, “Please, rest assured. We’ll make sure you get an explanation. Please, just try to remain calm.”
The woman, clearly at her breaking point, pointed a trembling finger at the dean and snapped, “Of course you’re not worried -it’s not your son who’s injured!”

Ignoring his injury, Raymond took a few determined steps forward and positioned himself between the woman and the director. “I’ll take responsibility for my own actions. Whatever it is, direct it at me.”
The woman’s husband, anger flaring, rolled up his sleeves, his beer belly nearly grazing Raymond.
“You little-
Creak!
Before he could finish, the sound of the door opening cut through the tension. Everyone’s gaze snapped toward the entrance.
