Chapter 28 The Ex Husband Of Roseanne
Chapter 28 The Ex Husband Of Roseanne
It wasn’t until Roseanne finally looked away that Black Rose realized there was no way she could have seen through Tinted window from the outside, especially at night when the windows were pitch black
This target was proving to be more troublesome than expected. Black Rose prided herself on her instiners, and right now, they were setting off warning bells.
Her gaze lingered on Roseanne, a deep frown etching across her face.
That silhouette seems familiar
A fleeting, absurd thought crossed her mind, but she quickly scoffed at the notion. Impoble. It can be her
Shaking off the ridiculous idea, she watched as the target’s car disappeared into the night before leaving as well.
Roseanne dropped Aurora off and drove away without a moment’s hesitation, not even bothering to step out of the ear
For the fourth time, Claire dialed Aurora’s number, only to be met with the same automated response–the phone was switched off
Trovan could no longer sit still. He shot to his feet. “Aury never turns off her phone. Don’t wait
wait any longer–send someone to find her now.”
Claire remained composed. She nodded and reached for her phone. “I’ll call Burton and have him come home”
Over the past few years, Aurora had grown noticeably more cautious around them. Her once vibrant and outgoing nature had settled into a more reserved and composed demeanor. She no longer acted like the pampered girl she was
Claire could feel the distance widening between them–subtle at first, but undeniable. Once a rif formed, it couldn’t be erased, only bridged. Swallowing her sorrow, she opened her contact list.
Hestia hurried in, her voice bright with joy. “Ms. Aurora has returned!”
Claire’s face lit up with a flash of relief and happiness. She quickly approached her daughter, “Aury”
Aurora’s throat tightened at the sight of her mother waiting for her. “Morn, Uncle Trovan,” she murmured, her voice trembling.
At the sight of her tears. Trovan’s face darkened with concern. Instinctively, he assumed she had been bullied. “What happened? Who’s been bullying you?”
Aurora shook her head quickly. “No one.”
Claire gently took her daughter’s cold hands in hers, her concern deepening as she felt the chill in her skin. “Hestia, prepare a warm bath right away.”
Hestia nodded and quickly turned to head upstairs, moving swiftly to carry out the request.
After giving her instructions, Claire turned to Aurora with a concerned expression. “Where did you go? Why was your phone.
Aurora hesitated for a moment before answering “Taccidentally broke my phone and went to find Roseanne. She’s the one who brought me back.”
Claire’s eyes
widened with excitement, her heart skipping a beat. “Rosie’s back too? Why didn’t she come in‘” She quickly moved toward the door, eager to see her, but when she looked outside, there was no car in sight.
Aurora noticed the disappointment flicker across her mother’s face and instinctively tightened her grip on her clothes. “She’s tied up and quite busy”
Claire sighed, her shoulders slumping in quiet disheartenment.
Trovan opened his mouth as if to say something but paused, thinking better of it

He didn’t quite understand Claire’s worry. After all, even though Roseanne wasn’t around, she was being well taken care of by the Sylvester family–her food, her accommodation–all of it was provided for. So, what was there really to worry about?
Aury’s the one who deserves our attention. She couldn’t even fight back when accused, and silently endured every hardship. She was just a baby back then. Why should she bear the weight of the adults mistakes? If only I had known earlier that Aury and Burton weren’t blood- related. I would have adopted her and raised her as my own. But now, it’s too late.
He sighed and looked at Aurora, the daughter he had always wanted but never had. His pupils constricted in alarm as he noticed something. “Aury, why is your right car bleeding?”
His surprised and exaggerated voice broke Claire from her thoughts. She turned around quickly, her gaze falling on the slight injury on Aurora’s earlobe. “How did you get hurt? Call Dr. Riley right away!”
Claire’s heart skipped a beat as memories resurfaced. She recalled when she had been actively working and had hired two nannies to care for young Aurora. They were highly paid, trusted with the responsibility of her daughter’s well–being.
One day, on her day off, Claire decided to take Aurora out for some fun and also to get her vaccinated Aurora, only two years old at the time, sat silently as the needle pierced her skin, tears streaming down her face without a sound. Her innocent eyes, filled with quiet terror, struck Claire with an unsettling feeling. Something wasn’t right.

Later, when Claire checked the surveillance footage, her worst fears were confirmed. Aurora had been mistreated by the people entrusted to care for her.
Burton and Claire were consumed by a mix of fury and heartbreak, along with an overwhelming sense of regret.
From that moment forward, Claire resigned from her job, determined to focus solely on raising her child. But no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t undo the deep–seated habit Aurora had developed–her silent tears, the quiet way she endured. pain, as if she had learned to suffer in silence.
From that day onward, Aurora became the heart of the household.
Trovan’s face was twisted in cold fury, “You went looking for Roseanne and came back injured–did she hurt you? If she doesn’t want to come back, fine. She’s in her twenties, been married before; it’s not like she’s going to starve out there.”
Aurora quickly responded, “It has nothing to do with Roseanne”
Trovan, growing more frustrated, shook his head. “You’re just too kind–hearted for your own good.”
Aurora stood there in a daze. A minor wound, easily overlooked by most, had set off a firestorm of concern. The commotion around her felt almost surreal.

In the end, Aurora couldn’t summon the courage to voice her concerns.
“Mom, it’s just a small injury. It’ll heal in a few days. I’m feeling a bit chilly, so I think I’ll head back to my room now,” she said quickly.
Before Claire could reply, Aurora bypassed them and made her way upstairs.
Claire and Trovan exchanged a concerned glance, both sensing something was off with their daughter and niece’s behavior that evening.
For two days in a row, Aurora remained crestfallen. Noticing this, Claire decided to do something to lift her spirits. She asked Trovan to purchase tickets for an art exhibition in a neighboring city, hoping it might help.
Although Aurora wasn’t particularly fond of painting, she loved appreciating them. Her room was filled with works by renowned artists
Her favorite artist was Maurice, though sadly, his works had become rare.
Hand in hand, mother and daughter entered the convention center.

The atmosphere was quiet, with only the soft murmur of conversations about the art.

Aurora loved this peaceful environment. She led her mother toward the painting closest to the entrance. “Mom. I know the artist of this one. When I started following her, she only had a few thousand fans!”
Claire, equally captivated, praised, “Aury, your taste is impeccable. This painting may have rough strokes, but the narrative it conveys is powerful. It truly highlights the artist’s skill.”
Aurora smiled, her pride evident. They continued discussing the art, lost in the moment, until Claire’s phone vibrated.
She glanced at her phone, her expression subtly changing. Gently patting her daughter’s hand, she said, “Ray’s homeroom teacher is calling. I need to take this, I’ll be quick.”
“All right, Mom.”
Claire walked toward the rest area and answered the call. “Hello, Mr. Brian
“Mrs. Sylvester, I need to talk to you about something…
A friendly basketball match was underway at Yolham First High School, but they had already suffered back–to–back losses to Stanney High School
Raymond, unable to tolerate the humiliation any longer, stepped in, dragging his friend along.
As the game progressed, it led to some physical contact.
One player from the opposing team took it too far, injuring a student from Yolham First High
Raymond, known for his short temper, was pushed to the edge by the incident. In an instant, tempers flared, and before. anyone could stop it, a full–blown fight erupted.
Even the teachers who rushed to break it up found themselves caught in the chaos.
The young men, fueled by youthful energy, only sustained minor injuries as the scuffle unfolded.

No sooner had one crisis settled than another arose. As it was time to leave, one of the athletes began harassing the girls from Raymond’s class, prompting Raymond to get into yet another fight with him.
Among the players, there was a standout student from Stanney High School, well–known for his status. His parents stirred up a scene at Yolham First High, arguing that the incident was jeopardizing their child’s chances of becoming the top scholar. They demanded an explanation..
The student who had been harassing the female classmate was taken to the hospital, and his parents added to the chaos, causing further disruption
After hearing the entire story, Claire rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on. She briefly spoke with the homeroom teacher before calling her husband. “Your son got into a fight. You need to go to the school and handle it,” she said firmly.
She quickly ended the call, switched off her phone, and focused on being present with Aurora.
Burton, clearly frustrated, set his phone down and massaged his temples. He looked at his secretary, “Has he not returned
yet?
Albert replied, “Yes, I’ve been in contact with Mr. Sylvester. He seemed to be in a rather low mood.”
Burton clenched his jaw. “These two rebellious children of mine, one runs away, the other causes trouble at school. They really know how to make my life difficult. First, contact Mr. Brian and find out what they need. If possible, avoid making a trip there”
“Yes, sir.”
At the Graham residence, Brandon received the court documents and let out a sharp, bitter laugh. He slammed them down onto the desk.

Rising from his study, he headed upstairs just as Yvonne emerged from the training room, wiping sweat from her brow
“Yvie.” He reached out, taking the towel from her hand and gently wiping the sweat from her neck. “I’m really sorry”
“It’s fine.” Yvette said. The first time she entered the training room, she fell in love with it
Though she felt uneasy knowing the equipment had once belonged to Roseanne, the pieces were top–tier, incredibly valuable. Roseanne had always been wasteful and extravagant, but Yvette was not like her
Fortunately, all the equipment had been serviced and cleaned, so it was ready for use in the meantime
The two of them made their way downstairs.
“I’ve received the summons,” Brandon said. “The court is arranging a pre–trial mediation. I won’t agree to let Roseanne take any of the Graham family’s shares. Once the divorce is finalized, I’ll replace all the equipment in the training room–just for
you.”
A faint smile curved Yvonne’s lips. “We’ll be returning to Egrea anyway, and we won’t be using it often. No need to waste all that money.”
Brandon took her hand, his expression firm. “I’ve made up my mind. Anything that Roseanne has touched, I won’t keep”
Yvette felt a surge of happiness at Brandon’s words, but she kept her expression neutral. “Whatever floats your boat.”
At that moment, the butler hurried in, addressing the two, “Mr. Graham, there’s a man outside–he’s crippled, and he claims to be… the ex–husband of Ms. Roseanne.”
