Chapter 25 They Knew About The Mix Up
Upon arriving at the hospital. Zachary headed straight for the director’s office.
“Dr. Woods, I need to see Dr. Cooper from the dermatology department.”
Zachary tried to stay calm, but his slightly trembling fingers betrayed his emotions
As he seemed serious. Shawn Woods, the hospital director recalled Aurora’s hospitalization not long ago and assumed he was here to cause trouble. His smile became somewhat stiff.
“Mr. Zachary, Dr. Cooper is probably in surgery. What do you need him for?
Jonas spoke up first. “Don’t worry, Dr. Woods. We’re just here to ask Dr. Cooper some questions. It has nothing to do with Ms.
Aurora
The Sylvester family had never used their status to oppress others or engaged in anything damaging to their reputation.
investor had been chosen after careful consideration.
Shawn cursed himself for making assumptions and quickly adjusted his attitude. “Mr. Zachary, please have a seat. As soon as Dr. Cooper finishes his surgery, I’ll call him over immediately.”
Zachary was silent.
Jonas interjected, “Well just wait for Dr. Cooper. We won’t take up more of your time.”
As they were insistent, Shawn had no choice but to lead them to the operating room.
Zachary and Jonas did not approach directly but sat on the seats provided along the corridor.
Meanwhile, at the Sylvester residence, Steve and Meghan had been waiting for days. They finally saw her coming out.
The two immediately hailed a cab and followed.
Ten minutes later, the Sylvester family’s car stopped in front of a shopping mall.
Aurora got out and pressed her cap down. “Mr. Silas. I’m going shopping with a friend, then heading to dinner. I’ll call you at eight.”
“Very well. Ms. Aurora,”
The car made a U–turn and left.
Aurora, in her mid–heels, was just about to enter when two figures suddenly appeared before her.
“Aurora”
A shrill voice reached her ears. She lifted her head abruptly and saw two elderly faces, her eyes widening in shock.
Even though she had only seen them once, she recognized them instantly.
They were her biological parents.
Why are they here?
Aurora clenched the strap of her bag, trying to stay composed. “What do you want?”
“Aurora, don’t you remember your mom?” Meghan forced a smile, but it was stiff and awkward
Steve followed suit, introducing himself. “I’m your dad.”
Aurora gave them a quick once–over before looking away. “I don’t know
you

More and more onlookers gathered around. Aurora had never encountered such a situation before, and her eyes reddened with frustration. She bent down to help Meghan up. “Get up first.”
Steve feared things would escalate and reach the Sylvester family. He hurriedly pulled Meghan to her feet. “Aurora, this isn’t something we can explain in a few words, Can we talk somewhere private?”
Aurora quickly nodded. “Okay.”
The three of them moved to a secluded side area of the mall, away from the bustling crowd.
Aurora’s tone was urgent.
“What do you
you want?”
Steve got straight to the point, pulling out a crumpled IOU. “Your brother, Brody owes seven million. Even after selling our house and car, we could only gather two million. We still need five million. If we can’t pay within five days, the casino will cut
off his hand.”
The IOU was crumpled and stained with sweat.
Aurora didn’t take it, her expression dark. “So, you’re here to ask me for money?”
Meghan grabbed Aurora’s hand, tears streaming down her face. “Aurora, only you can save your brother now. We didn’t want to disturb your life, but we’re desperate. You and Sevina both chose the Sylvester family, but your dad and I only have one son. We can’t just watch him lose a hand!”
Aurora smirked, her gaze turning scornful. “You raised Roseanne for twenty years. Why aren’t you asking her for help instead. of me?”
If they had welcomed her with warmth and kindness two years ago, she might have softened.
Now, she wanted nothing to do with this family.
Gambling and losing his entire fortune!
Brody was in this mess because they enabled him.
“Your problems have nothing to do with me.”
If Brody had been a decent person, she might have helped him out of trouble for the sake of their blood ties.
But gambling debt? He deserved it.
Aurora turned to leave, but Steve blocked her way. His face suddenly turned cold, the warmth from earlier vanishing.
“Roseanne is the real daughter of the Sylvester family. You’re just a fraud. You have my blood. Why shouldn’t you help us?”
His sharp words pierced her heart. Aurora bit her lip, refusing to let tears fall. “You never raised me, and you have no right to ask me for money. If you keep pestering me, I won’t hesitate to call the police.”
She turned and walked away.
“We’ve known about your mix–up with Roseanne for years!”
Steve’s sudden revelation made Aurora freeze in place.
She turned back, incredulous. “What did you say?”
Seeing that his words had an effect, Steve sneered. “Fifteen years ago, we accidentally found out Roseanne wasn’t biologically related to us. A hospital test confirmed the mistake. We went to the Sylvester family that very day, but when we saw how well you were living, we decided to keep quiet.”

Chapter 25 They Knew About The Mix Up
Fifteen years ago, Brosly had been injured while playing and lost a lot of blood. He lost consciousness.
The doctor wouldn’t allow direct relatives to donate blood. However, Meghan and Steve insisted, so they were tested first.
That was when they discovered the issue.
Roseanne wasn’t their biological slaughter.
What Steve had said was a mix of truth and fiction.
They had known about the baby switch, but they hadn’t gone looking for Aurora.
“If you don’t give us the money. I’ll tell the Sylvester family that you begged us not to expose the truth back then!”
Steve’s eyes were filled with malice.
Aurora stumbled, gripping the wall for support. Her voice trembled. “I don’t believe you!”
Steve had anticipated this. He pulled out his phone and found a photo of an old identification document. “See for yourself.”
Aurora took it and saw a wrinkled, ageil DNA test result,
The date indicated was fifteen years ago.
Her lips parted slightly, and silent tears fell.
How could this happen…
Thomas exited the operating room. Just as he finished giving post–surgery instructions, Shawn pulled him aside.
Even though he was exhausted, he managed a smile for the hospital’s key investor. “Mr. Zachary, what can I do for you?”
“Dr. Cooper, do you recognize the little girl in this photo?”
Zachary held up the photo by one corner.
The photo was shaking too much for Thomas to see clearly, so he took it and examined it closely. The moment he saw the girl’s face, he narrowed his eyes. “Who is she to you?”
It had been years, yet he could never forget those eyes–silence, emptiness, and a disdain for the world.
Fifteen years had passed, yet he never expected to see her face again.
At that moment, Zachary understood everything.
Roseanne was the child who had nearly been burned alive for insurance fraud.
Steve. Meghan,
Zachary clenched his fists, his eyes reddening. He forced himself to suppress lids rage, his forehead veins bulging.
“She is my sister”
Thomas stared at him, realization dawning
That girl had never truly been their daughter.
Did they kidnap hert
Thomas returned the photo. “If you have time, let’s discuss this in my office
