Chapter 13 Never Harm The Innocent
Impoule Me was raised in the countryside. How could she possibly know such an influential person?
Brandon carefully returned the painting to its place, then promptly took a picture. He said, “These three paintings must be preserved carefully. No one is allowed to touch them”
Even though they were imitations, the artist’s skill was impressive. They must have known Maurice very well.
Fiona felt the seriousness in Brandon’s demeanor. Feeling puzzled, she touched her nose.
Are these three paintings very important?
She remembered the time when Roseanne casually tossed the paintings onto the couch after bringing them home, instructing her to have them framed.
Het demeanor and actions exuded an air of nonchalance.
She initially thought they were just ordinary paintings, not paying much attention to them even when dusting.
It seemed that caution would be necessary in the future.
Brandon sent a photo to someone before heading to Yvonne’s apartment.
“Yvie, it’s indeed as you suspected. Roseanne dors have a violent streak. Luisa’s arm is covered in injuries. I don’t even know if she’s hurt anywhere else.”
Luisa was the oldest person in the Graham residence.
If Roseanne could even hurt Luisa, she could definitely harm others as well.
Yvonne’s face was etched with sorrow, her voice icy cold. “She has gone too far, We must expose her true nature in court.”
Seeing Yvonne even more upset than himself, Brandon actually calmed down, and instead, he comforted her.
She’s simply too kind–hearted. That’s why, even when she had fallen into a come due to a disease, she disregarded her own safety to rescue me from a pile of corpses. Moreover, she even managed to cure my illness,
With a gentle gaze, Brandon wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her. “Yvie…”
Yvonne playfully scolded him with a hint of coyness in her voice, pushing him lightly. “Go and take a shower.”
“All right. Wait for me,”
Brandon immediately ducked into the bathroom.
With a smile, Yvonne took a seat on the bed, patiently waiting for him.
On the bedside table, Brandon’s phone vibrated twice.
Yvonne casually picked it up.
The message read. Throw them away!
Is he still in touch with Roseannet
Yvonne clicked on it, only to find that the chat window was initiated by Brandon. A pang of sorrow welled up in her heart
They’re just a few pieces of jewelry. Why didn’t he just throw them away instead of asking her to go back and take them?
Frowning. Yvonne was inexplicably annoyed. After a moment of thought, she typed out. The pieces of jewelry you’ve worn are Alky: I don’t want to touch them. Since you don’t want them, I’ll have the housekeeper throw them away.
Upon seeing the message, Roseanne let out a scoff, then deleted and blocked the sender in one fell swoop

was no need for Hoseanne in overwork herself for the Graham family anymore. With a routine of going to bed early and waking upratly, she looked much healthier and more vibrant.
She spent an hour online, luowsing through various houses, and was particularly drawn to a highly secure and extremely private neighborhood
Immediately, Roseanne decided to go to the sales department. After changing her clothes, she stepped out the door.
Not far off, she opteil to take a taxi.
After starting the car, the driver switched on the radio..
“Breaking news. “The Yolliam police department issued a warning that a wave of scammers had recently infiltrated the city. The government has urged all citizens to be vigilant, not to trust online romances, be wary of scams, and to exercise caution
After hearing the news, the cab driver cursed, “These scammers never stop, do they? They just took a two–year break, and now they’re back in Yollam pulling their scams again.”
Silently, Roseanne listened, not uttering a word,
Upon encountering a red light, the taxi driver pressed down on the brakes and glanced at the rear–view mirror.
Suddenly, his gaze fixed on her, “Miss, are you from out of town?”
His tone of the inquiry carried a hint of probing.
Roseanne replied. Tim a local*
The driver looked her skeptically, “You don’t have an accent! Most locals from Yolham have at least a bit of an accent. It’s usually easy to pick up on.”
The sensational fraud case that had stirred up quite a storm two years ago was largely due to the fact that the culprits had presented themselves as exceptionally attractive social elites, making it easier for everyone to let their guard down.
Their deception techniques were incredibly sophisticated, to the point where even the police couldn’t gather any evidence.
Just a resemblance to the locals wasn’t enough to arouse the driver’s suspicion. Ironically, it was when she claimed to be a local yet lacked the corresponding accent that the driver became doubtful.
Roseanne explained, “I used to live in the countryside, only moving to Yolham when I grew up.”
Her statement had too many laws.
The driver swallowed nervously, unlocked his phone, and entered a group chat. He typed out a message: Can someone resend that photo of the scammer from last timer I think I just ran into her
Hamus replied. No touy Did you full victim to a scant
After Kamus sent the photo, the driver narrowed his eyes dramatically after seeing it. He wrote: This girl is in m
my car!
Lupus responded Quick! Call the police. She’s carrying for hundred million on her. If the police can confirm it’s true, I can get my three hundred thousand back.
Messages from the taxi driver’s friends advising the driver to alert the authorities came one after another.
The light turned green, but the car didn’t move.
Soon, someone from behind the taxi honked
The driver, an older man, was startled, promptly putting down his phone and starting the car.
As he drove, he would occasionally glance at his phone, his inner turmoil evident.
These scammers all had accomplices, and he was afraid of retaliation.

As they were nearing their destination, the driver took a deep breath and hit the emergency button.
Beep!
“Hello, emergency services. What assistance do you require?”
The emergency dispatcher’s voice could be heard from the radio,
Roseanne lifted her gaze, turning toward the driver’s seat with a look of confusion.
The driver’s voice was somewhat shaky as he said, “I’m just a driver, and there’s a scammer in my car. What should I do now”
Roseanne was baffled.
The dispatcher asked, “Does the other party have a knife? Are you at risk of any harm?”
“It seems like she isn’t carrying a knife. She’s a female. I reckon I can take her in a tight.”
“Sir, while ensuring your personal safety, if possible, we suggest you drive directly to the police station,” she advised.
The driver gave a sniffle. “But what if she realizes I’ve changed the route? I’m scared of retaliation from her accomplices”
The dispatcher asked. “Did she not hear when you called the police?”
The driver glanced back, meeting a pair of profound, dark eyes. Suddenly, he stammered, “1… I… I think I’ve been overheard.”
The GPS announced, “You have arrived at your destination.”
The journey spanned a few kilometers, and even with the time spent waiting for traffic lights, it didn’t exceed ten minutes in total. Yet, for the driver, it felt as if an entire century had passed.
Unable to hold it in, Roseanne burst out laughing.
Her voice was lowered, somewhat stifling, and it had an unsettling quality to it.
The driver remained stiff and motionless.
The sales office was right next door, yet Roseanne didn’t rush to get out of the car. Raising an eyebrow, she asked, “Sir, are we still going to the police station?”
Upon seeing her smile, the driver couldn’t help but feel his temper rise. He ended the call and restarted the car. “Of course! How can we not go‘ You scammers… Once you get your hands on the money, you vanish without a trace, leaving others in ruin. You must face the consequences of the law.”
Roseanne propped her arm against the raised part of the car door, her palm cradling her chin. Her voice was casual as she asked. “Why do you think I’m a scammer?”
The driver questioned, “If you suddenly find yourself with five hundred million, wouldn’t you be considered a scammer?”
reyes, “So, word of my five hundred million investm
Roseanne’s smile faded, a hint of chilliness creeping into has spread this far.”
Indeed, we have to go to the police station
She flashed a sundle, her tone indifferent. “There’s a big misunderstanding here. I may have killed someone, but I never engaged in fraud.”
The driver was momentarily stunned, nearly colliding the car with a guardrail. He frantically grasped the steering wheel. narrowly avoiding an accident.
At that moment, Roseanne tightened her grip on the overhead handle of the car, reassuringly uttering, “Don’t worry Inever farm the innocent. I only eliminate the wicked”
The driver’s heart was pounding Suppressing his fear, he stammered, “W–Who exactly have you killed”
