This child was returning to his home country for the first time, and he was utterly unfamiliar with his surroundings. Where would he go?
Alana rang Jeff again, urging him to recall the kids whereabouts in the mansion that afternoon.
“They were staying in the rooms upstairs, Jeff replied carefully.
“No, Rowan once came downstairs. I caught a glimpse of him while I was busy, and when I looked again, he was heading upstairs. I didn’t think much of it then, Jeff explained.
Alana felt a lot of doubt after hearing this.
Rowan and Bailey could use their similar look to fool Jeff on purpose.
These two were highly cunning and had previously played tricks on her, but she had managed to see through them,
“I got it. Pull up the home surveillance footage, I’ll be there in about twenty minutes, Alana answered, feeling slightly relieved.
Arriving at the mansion, Alana checked the surveillance footage. Her prediction was accurate. The two kids wore identical outfits. One sneaked downstairs while the other descended openly.
When Jeff wasn’t looking. Rowan moved towards the front door, while Bailey headed upstairs
However, Jelf always assumed there was one child who went downstairs.
After reviewing the footage, Alana hurried upstairs and opened the door to a large room. She found Bailey calmly studying English at his desk
Alana approached and grabbed his shoulder, saying “Bailey, tell me the truth. Where did Rowan go?”
“Mom, I don’t understand your question. Rowan is in his room, Bailey replied, looking perplexed, as if oblivious of the circumstances.
“Bailey, don’t say you don’t know anything. I can easily see the trick you two play on the surveillance. Tell me where your brother gues
Alana stared at him attentively and continued with a more serious tone. “This is a serious problem. Hurry up and tell me where he’s going. Rowan is unfamiliar with this area. Won’t you feel had if something happens to him outside?”
Hearing this. Bailey’s eyes welled up with tears. “…1… Rowan said he went to find Daddy, but I don’t know where he went.”
As a brother, he must not betray him. But he was concerned about his safety, so he had to disclose some information, hoping Rowan had already met Dad before Mommy found him.
As expected, Rowan was too daring. Looking for someone aimlessly in a big city like this was like finding a needle in a haystack. Plus, he had been gone for over an hour already.
Alana couldn’t wait any longer, she had to call the police to help find Rowan as soon as possible.
Alana dialled the emergency number and, ten minutes later, the police rushed over.
When Officer Hansen entered the mansion, wearing his uniform, Alana’s heart leapt..
He was the traffic cop who investigated her father’s accident case five years ago.
Even though the two had only one brief encounter, Alana had a strong impression on him.
Time hadn’t changed him much, only adding to his maturity and composure.

Ethan, who didn’t recognise her at all, followed protocol of asking Alana questions and reviewing the surveillance before making calls to find the child.
Thirty minutes earlier, a charming little boy with a bag slung over his shoulder confidently approached the front desk of Elite Group Tower.
“Excuse me, Miss. Could you tell Mr. Channing that I’d like to see him?” Rowan smiled sweetly.
The staff exchanged surprised glances.
Oh my, who’s this cute and confident kid? He was bold enough to request a meeting with the CEO himself
