“My husband’s death was so tragic! We have the elderly and young children to look after. How will we manage now?”
The men standing behind her glowered at Celia like fierce protectors, evidently there to support the middle–aged woman.
Ethan’s face grew stern as he quickly stepped forward and helped the woman up. “This is a hospital. You can’t make a scene here. Stand up! I’m working out compensation with Ms. Durban.”
Grateful, Celia nodded and earnestly said, “Yes. Since my father caused the accident. I will ensure you receive full compensation for your needs.”
Turning to Ethan, she continued, “Officer Hanson, let’s proceed according to the legal framework.”
Leaving the hospital, Celia looked towards the eastern sunrise, tears forming in her eyes again.
Despite her grief, she knew she had to move on. She needed to hurry to her father’s company, Grand Vista Group, to manage the crisis
In the presidential suite of the Gate Hotel, Shane Channing stood tall and detached, dressed in a suit. His cold presence was evident as he stood next to the window.
His striking features radiated a severe anger that could captivate anyone.
Slowly, he took out his phone and made a call.
“Find out who drugged me last night!”
“Yes, Sir.” Jim Marsh, his assistant on the other end, was visibly startled.
Who would dare drug the CEO like this?
Were they insane?
“Also, find out who the woman was who came into my room last night”
A woman? Jim was almost speechless.
The CEO, known for his meticulousness and avoidance of romantic ties, had he actually had a one–night encounter with a stranger while drugged?
“Of course. I’ll do it right away, Jim responded promptly.
As the CEO’s assistant, he was well–trained not to delve into personal issues.
After hanging up, Shane lit a cigarette and gazed into the distance with a piercing look.
The night before, he had felt unwell during a social event and had hurried back to his reserved presidential suite.
Trying not to draw attention, he took a long, cold shower for thirty minutes, hoping to shake off the discomfort.
Unexpectedly, a woman burst into his room while he was asleep, disrupting his peace and even taking something valuable
from him.
He was determined to track her down, no matter the cost.
As Shane walked by the large bed, he noticed a dark red stain on the white sheets.

His eyebrows knitted together involuntarily. Was it really her first time?
Remembering her fervour, it seemed doubtful.

Celia pulled her red car up to the entrance of Grand Vista Group, only to discover that the gates were closed and surrounded by a throng of people.
Her heart pounding. Celia discreetly manoeuvered her car into a hidden spot.
This is unravelling too quickly. Had the company already fallen into the hands of the authorities?
In a panic, she checked her phone and stumbled upon news of her father’s accident.
The company’s shares had nosedived, creditors were gathering at the gates, and financial losses were escalating,
How was she, a young woman yet to finish her studies, supposed to manage all this?
It was evident she could not stay here; she needed to leave and formulate a new strategy.
Perhaps reaching out to Chase and leveraging the influence of his family could help her steer through this crisis.
Finding a quiet place, Celia parked and tried calling Chase several times to no avail
Just as she was about to give up and set her phone aside, she got a message from Chase.
“See me in Room 306 at Gate Hotel.”
This message shone like a beacon for Celia, casting a ray of hope across her anxious features.
She quickly set off towards the hotel, making a stop at a mall to buy a new outfit.
Returning to the hotel after the events of the previous night left her feeling uneasy and more vigilant.
Slipping into a new outfit might offer her some comfort and a feeling of preparedness.
Arriving at Room 506 and ready to knock, Celia noticed the door was slightly ajar and heard a woman’s voice inside.
“Chase, you’re so mean. You were quite rough last night, and it hurts a lot. Why are you
back?”
“It’s not your first time. Why would it still hurt? You little minx, are you teasing me deliberately?”
The voice was eerily familiar–could it really be her?
It seemed impossible.
Celia’s body shook lightly, tears starting to form in her eyes.
Inside, the conversation continued with a breathy t
tone. “Chase, is Celia as enthusiastic as me?”
“Don’t bring her up: she’s like a porcupine and always keeps her distance. You are much more fun!”
Enraged, Celia forcefully pushed the door open.
The room was chaotic, clothes scattered everywhere, the bed untidy and tousled, and a palpable sense of impropriety filled the air.
The scene was nauseating.
Chase, shirtless, looked up in surprise at her entrance and scrambled for a towel to cover himself.
“Celia, what are you doing here?
Why did he ask me that? Didn’t he send me the messaget

Celia, with eyes red from tears, stared silently at him.
If it was not Chase who sent the message, then it had to be Samantha Richardson.
Could the message have been a cruel trick to bring her here and witness this betrayal?

Celia swiftly closed the distance to Samantha, noticing the smug expression on her face. Overwhelmed by a surge of emotion, Celia raised her hand and delivered a stinging slap.
“You b*tch! I trusted you, and you resort to such low acts.”
Samantha, taken aback by the unexpected aggression from usually composed Celia, clutched her reddened cheek.
“How dare you hit me? You’ll be sorry!” She spat back. fixing her clothes before charging at Celia
Chase, now wearing his clothes, quickly stepped in and held Samantha back.
“Samantha, calm down” He urged, his voice low, perhaps weighed down by guilt.
“So what if I hit you, you two–faced b*tch? You pretend to be pure, but secretly, you engage in vile acts!” Celia shouted, standing her ground firmly and pointing accusingly at Samantha.
“What have I done wrong? Chase and I have loved each other for a long time. We love each other,” Samantha retorted, still trying to justify herself despite the slap
