Chapter 19 His Fiancée
Chapter 19 His Fiancée
Alfred strode into the room, his gaze flickering over Samantha before fixing on Amy
“What’s going on? How did a stranger get in?”
A shy young maid piped up, “Ms. Richardson barged in, saying she’s the master’s fiancée.”
Amy attempted to intervene, but her words tumbled out too fast, failing to halt the unfolding chaos.
Alfred was stunned by the revelation. When did the master get engaged? Why hadn’t been informed
Celia, meanwhile, was stunned, her eyes tinged with red as she locked gazes with Samantha.
In her thoughts, she mulled over Shane’s intentions. If he is engaged, why court me? What is he playing at?
To compound matters, her arch–nemesis, Samantha, was now entangled in the mix.

“Shh!” Amy hushed the young maid firmly to halt any further disclosures, then turned to Samantha. “Ms. Richardson, no one here has heard Mr. Channing mention your claims. He introduced Ms. Durban as his girlfriend and asked us to treat her well. Kindly leave.”
Samantha chuckled, striding toward Celia. “Celia, let me clarify. Shane and I have shared a bed. Your girlfriend status won’t last. I suggest you go if you don’t want to humiliate yourself.”
Celia felt a pang of nausea but remained composed. I’m here by Shane’s arrangement. If he wants me gone, he’ll need to say it himself
Samantha was momentarily speechless at Celia’s resolve
Celia chuckled disdainfully, holding his position. “Things have their order. And hey, you’re not running the show here yet, so ease up. Sometimes, the higher the hope, the nastier the leidown.”
“Why you…“Samantha had no good comeback for that.
“C’mon, Alfred, show her the door, Celia directed before ascending the stairs.
Alfred nodded and escorted Samantha off the property, while she continued to shout after Celia.
As Celia vanished from view, Samantha yelled after, “Celia, don’t let success go to your head!
Alfred, his brow furrowed, disregarded propriety and grabbed her arm. swiftly guiding her toward the exit.
With Samantha gone, Alfred wasted no time in briefing Shane on the commotion
Upstairs, Celia shut the door, frustration brimming in her eyes.
Why did Samantha keep popping up everywhere? Was Felicia onto something when she warned me that Samantha would go to extremes to get that she wanted?
Samantha’s words echoed in Celia’s mind, stirring disgust. Is there any truth to her assertions about Shane?
I thought he’s a clean freak and a celibate guy. So how did he…
And to think he’d pick a filthy hypocrite like Samantha. Poor taste in women.
As she mulled over Shane’s possible connection with Samantha, her opinion of him took a nosedive.
She saved all her dignity during the confrontation, but now she wanted to leave this place at once.
With a sense of unease gnawing at her, Celia swiftly packed her things, snatched her suitcase, and made a beeline for the exit, unwilling to linger a moment longer.
Alfred and Amy rushed forward to intervene, but their attempts were futile.

No one could detain her if she was determined to go.
As she trudged out with her suitcase in tow, Alfred swiftly dialed Shane’s number.
Just as Celia reached the main road, prepared to hail a cab, a sleek black Rolls–Royce pulled up before her.
Emerging with purposeful strides, Shane locked eyes with Celia, his gaze piercing.
Refusing to yield, Celia met his stare head–on
After a tense moment of silence, Shane spoke up. “You’re just gonna leave without a word? That’s not like you.”
“I’ll stick to my promises. But I can’t stay here, Celia’s tone remained resolute.
“Is it because of her?” Shane’s brow furrowed.
He was already aware of the situation,
Cutting to the chase, Celia confronted Shane, “Shane, if you’re engaged, why involve me in this mess?”

After a brief pause, Shane responded thoughtfully. “It was unexpected, and I just learned about it recently. I’ll ensure she doesn’t bother you again. Our deal stands, so come back with me!”
He actually confessed to it!
How’d he end up with her of all people?
The thought of Samantha going at it with Chase at the hotel quickly doused any goodwill she had towards Shane. Now she thought he was tainted too.
“Of all people, her?”
“Are you familiar with her?” Celia’s tone was gentle, but Shane caught every word
“Just a coworker, Celia responded nonchalantly,
She likely couldn’t deny her acquaintance with Samantha, given that Alfred, the housekeeper, had probably briefed Shane on everything
Shane remained silent, his head bowed, lost in contemplation.
1 better split before your fiancée gets the wrong idea. Hit me up if you need anything. Ill be there.”
With that, Celia wheeled her suitcase the other way
But before she could move, Shane grabbed her arm.
“You don’t gotta stay, but I’ll sort out a place for you. Just in case you bail, where am I supposed to find you if your phone’s of?” Shane asked.
Celia scowled, wrestled free, and stepped back. “You don’t trust me?”
She suspected that Shane kept her here to make sure he could keep a close eye on her.
“Grandma’s a fan of you. I could track you down anytime. Shane dodged the question.
He stashed her suitcase in the trunk and held the door open for her.
Celia had no option but to slide into the car.
The journey passed in silence.
About ten minutes later, Shane halted the car in front of a luxury high–rise in an upscale neighborhood..
Exiting the car, Shane retrieved Celia’s suitcase, offering to assist her upstairs. Yet, Celia steadfastly took it from him. 2/3

They rode the elevator to the fifth floor together. Shane unlocked the door, flicked on the lights, and handed Celia the key.
“Here’s a fully–furnished three–bedroom pad. Crash here for now, and if you need anything, just holler.”
“Got it” Celia nudged the suitcase inside, scanned the space, then turned and gently shut the door. “Mr. Channing, you should head back now.”
Shane felt an unexpected surge of irritation at her words.
