Once again, he downed the alcohol in one shot and stuffed the glass in Jing Nanyu’s hand. Then he lowered his body in the pool.
“Truth be told, it is time you unload your burden and find a wife. Don’t encourage all the ladies to fawn over you, giving your mother hope and then dashing it away. I am worried about you! You have to try whatever, or I really have to treat you as a patient!” The worry in Jing Nanyu’s eyes deepened along with Xiao Chengjue’s actions. “No need to. I have already found a cure. She will temporarily act as a drug enhancer,” Xiao Chengjue said as he emerged from the water and caused water to splash everywhere. He stepped out of the pool with his long and muscular legs. Behind, Jing Nanyu eyes shone and followed him out.
“We are already in the lobby, so why haven’t you told me what kind of cure it is that could untie your knot of so many years? You know I am in the medical field, so don’t keep me on suspense any longer. If your cure is so effective, I have to research it. It may give relief and save many patients with similar symptoms. You would be doing good for mankind.”
Xiao Chengjue looked at Jing Nanyu who nagged as he followed behind him. He was feeling less moody now. As he saw how the usually gentle and calm Jing Nanyu became impatient, he started to feel mischievous.
“There’s no use telling you. A guy like you who sticks to the rules, and who is gentle and honest has no use for this drug enhancer,” Xiao Chengjue said trying to sound as serious as possible.
“How would you know I can’t research on this drug? My job is to treat patients. It has nothing to do with sticking to rules. Are you trying to torment me?” Jing Nanyu finished. He stopped for a second and turned to look at Xiao Chengjue. He continued, “Don’t tell me it is something prohibited. You have the capability to be autocratic, but I don’t.”
Jing Nanyu saw his vague response and waved his hand as he replied, “Forget it, I’m not asking anymore. You are sly by nature. I have been tricked by you many times. Take it that I didn’t ask!”
Xiao Chengjue fiddled with his phone as he laughed softly. “If you don’t ask me, all the more I want to tell you. It’s a woman.”
“Aren’t you… Didn’t you go through a traumatic experience? How did you overcome it?” Jing Nanyu leaned forward in curiosity and impatience. They were good friends. Xiao Chengjue had a bad reputation and no woman had ever gotten close to him. It had been a long time since Xiao Chengjue touched a woman.
“I encountered one and didn’t find her annoying, so I’m toying with her,” Xiao Chengjue replied.
Xiao Chengjue’s words gave him a huge amount of information. Jing Nanyu understood him and didn’t prod. However, he was curious what kind of woman could break the obstacles he had set up and unlock his heart to allow a woman near him once again.
“So this situation today was because of this woman? Did she express her dissatisfaction for you?” Jing Nanyu asked. Xiao Chengjue’s emotional instability today must be due to something bad. Someone as domineering as him rarely had anything that could stump him.
“She wouldn’t dare! I would silence her right away,” Xiao Chengjue’s eyes rose as he spoke imposingly. He would never bind himself to anyone, not even the one who saved him from his own imprisonment.

“Alright, not for a woman. I don’t know about your issues, but you always solve them in the end, so I’m not worried.” Jing Nanyu noticed Xiao Chengjue getting agitated at the mention of that woman. He picked up his tea to cover up his smile as he wondered in curiosity which woman could accept his possessiveness and unruliness.

An urgent tone came from Xiao Chengjue’s phone. There was a change in his expression, and he suddenly turned serious. “Pass me your phone.”
“Your ringtone is quite unique,” Jing Nanyu said as he passed his phone over. Why would he use such an urgent ringtone that causes panic?
“Qian, get the car ready with Liang. I am coming immediately.” Xiao Chengjue tossed Jing Nanyu’s phone on the table and downed his tea in a shot. As he looked at Jing Nanyu again, his eyes took on a murderous look.
“I have something on so I need to go now. I invited you out just to relax and no other reason. Don’t worry. I will have a good drink with you next time.”
“Do you need my help?” Jing Nanyu stood up and asked. The murderous look had flashed across Xiao Chengjue’s eyes, seemingly just an illusion, however Jing Nanyu knew better.
“Do you know how to fight? Besides, I am going to save a damsel in distress. If you were there, then what would be there for me to do?” Xiao Chengjue replied crudely as he placed his suit over his shoulder as though declaring his authority. He left behind a dumbfounded Jing Nanyu and walked away casually.
“Qian, pass the address to Liang.” Xiao Chengjue entered the car straight away and passed the phone to Qian. He retrieved a black gun from a secret compartment from under a seat. Qian was surprised because he had been sitting on that seat.
“Boss, it’s most probably just some hiccups. There might be no need for guns and it would give Ms. Hua a scare. Who knows, Liang might be able to knock down everyone. Besides, we also have baseball bats in the trunk.”
“That’s true. I’ll just hold on to it anyway. Focus on driving and quit looking at me!” Xiao Chengjue angrily looked at Liang, who was looking at him through the rearview mirror. Liang’s feet trembled which caused the car to tremble as well.
Liang regained his composure and drove on, not looking at him again.
“Boss, the help signal that came from Ms. Hua is around here. Don’t be anxious, we are almost there!” Qian reassured. Although Xiao Chengjue did not show any reaction, Qian knew how worried he was. He knew that Ms. Hua was important to his boss because ever since her appearance, Xiao Chengjue had unknowingly smiled more. Besides, it was time he had a woman by his side.
“I’m not anxious. I’m just curious how this little seductress deals with others,” Xiao Chengjue replied as he looked on interestingly. Hua Shengan could not possibly have used the same trick to get me involved in this situation. If so, she would be in trouble.
Xiao Chengjue was angry. Although he did not urge Liang to drive faster, he silently stared out the window in a deep frown.
