“Ranran, sit down and eat.” Hua Fan looked at Hua Shengan, who didn’t move from her seat, and switched his gaze to Hua Ranran who sat down obediently. A hint of warmth rose in his eyes.

“Aunt Lin, are you okay? I remember that you like to eat these dishes that Dad put on my plate. I’ll just eat the vegetables that are placed in front of me.”
Hua Shengan put the plate in front of Lin Xue and grinned. She pulled the salad bowl in front of her and ate contentedly.
Hua Ranran’s hand quivered. Then she looked at Lin Xue. “Sis, don’t eat only vegetables to lose weight. How many times did Mom tell you that it will cause a nutrition imbalance? You’re skinny enough and I’m jealous of you!” Hua Ranran exclaimed.
“Yeah, An. You should eat a little more,” Lin Xue quickly said. As a stepmother in a well–off family, it would seem inappropriate if she made things difficult for Hua Shengan because of a piece of meat.
“I’m used to it. What did the police say when they came today?” Hua Shengan smiled at Hua Ranran and said softly while the latter was stunned.
Everyone knows how to say heartwarming words. But things are done, not said.
Hua Ranran’s face paled. The sharp glint in her eyes switched to helplessness and panic when she looked at Hua Fan.
Lin Xue glanced at Hua Fan. “They asked some questions and did not apprehend Ranran as she didn’t do anything. Everything must be based on evidence. If there really were something, then Ranran wouldn’t be sitting here, right?” Lin Xue spoke with a calm tone.
Hua Shengan smiled at Lin Xue who was staring at her. “Yeah. Everything is based on evidence. What you see may not be true, but if it’s fake it will never be real.”
Hua Shengan’s words were deliberately targeted at Lin Xue and Hua Ranran, which made the two of them felt helpless as they couldn’t fight back. Even the police hinted that someone helped the Hua family and told them not to worry, but Hua Ranran knew exactly what that meant.
She didn’t understand why Hua Shengan seemed like a completely different person compared to yesterday, which frightened her more. Even Daddy doesn’t dare to fight Hua Shengan, yet I still want to free Luo Tian from her grasp. Hua Ranran looked at Hua Fan again.

Hua Fan cleared his throat, breaking the tense atmosphere. Hua Shengan had been quiet because she wanted to hear what Hua Fan had to say. Her mind was clear right now, unlike that day when she was furious and let the bastard off easily. She couldn’t be merciful to those before her right now.
Before she left the company today, Kong Xianming advised her not to rush and take her time or else it would backfire.

“I understand your desire to look after your grandfather’s property and keep your father out of it but don’t give people the impression that you left him out as people may start rumors out of it. Protecting your grandfather’s property may be essential, but your future is more important. Ms. Hua, do you understand what I mean?” Kong Xianming explained as he noticed Hua Shengan looking confused.
At this moment, Hua Shengan wanted to face them differently. It didn’t matter whether she understood Uncle He’s words entirely.
“Dad, are you okay? Are you too tired?”
Hua Shengan wiped her mouth with the napkin and looked at Hua Fan with emotionless eyes.
“Yeah. Time and tide wait for no man. I felt tired after barely doing anything,” Hua Fan rested his arms on the table and responded to Hua Shengan agreeingly. The exhaustion on his face became more evident.
“Hua, the kids are already grown up. They understand your hard work, so you should let An and Ran help you out to reduce your stress.”
Lin Xue put down her chopsticks and scooped a bowl of soup for him, holding his hand as she said that.
“Yeah, Daddy. I know I may not be capable, but I will not hesitate to help you if you need me to do anything for you. As long as you and Mom are healthy, I’m happy.”
Hua Ranran looked at Hua Fan admirably. Hua Shengan knew that was Hua Fan’s favorite expression, but she couldn’t do it no matter what. She felt that providing for a family is something a man should do and not boast about.
“Don’t exhaust yourself. At your age, just let go of it if you need to. You can never stop earning money. I don’t mind if you let me take over Hua Group. It’s the same for me anyway. You will be able to get some rest then,” Hua Shengan said and smiled at them.
Instead of playing along, she went straight to the point and mentioned the thing they cared about the most. Didn’t they want me to let Luo Tian off the hook and give Hua Ranran another chance?

When the time comes, you won’t even get to refuse taking over my company,” Hua Fan said, suppressing his anger at the thought of Hua Shengan wanting to seize his power. In the past, she didn’t care about the company at all! Now he didn’t even have the chance to convince her otherwise.
“That’s alright. I know I don’t have that much ability to help you. I can’t make you happy like Ran, and I don’t have much patience like her in accompanying Aunt Lin to shop for the entire day.”
Hua Shengan lowered her head in embarrassment and put on a guilty look. Lin Xue was irritated as Hua Shengan was targeting them, and she hasn’t stopped yet.
“Aunt Lin, it must’ve been hard on you these few years with Dad. I’ll buy you a gift sometime when we go shopping together as gratitude for taking care of me all these years. Right, Dad?”
