“Ms. Hua, both of us worked hard with your grandfather to achieve where we are today. Before he passed on, he already arranged everything for us. We are only here because your grandfather was worried about you. He was afraid that people would not put faith in you because of your age and requested us to help you. But seeing you trust your father this much, we couldn’t say anything even though we felt hurt. Now that you have spoken about reorganizing Dingfeng Group, we have no objections.”
“Thank you. It’s all my fault for being stubborn in the past and almost giving away grandfather’s company. I feel guilty, although you never reprimanded me and even helped me today. I, Hua Shengan, sincerely apologize for not listening to your suggestions and said nasty things to both of you in the past.”
Hua Shengan’s hands rested on her thighs as she bowed deeply to the two elders. She was glad that she was reincarnated during this time when her grandfather’s loyal subordinates were still around, especially these two elders.
“An, we actually do not agree with your suggestion to reorganize Dingfeng Group,” Sun Shuren blurted out the moment he could. Kong Xianming understood what his old friend meant and nodded.
“Why not? I wanted to get rid of all the staff that never belonged to Dingfeng Group. I can’t allow those puny maggots to eat away at the company! I can’t ruin the company grandfather left for me.”
Hua Shengan suspected that it was because of some errors in the arrangements she made. Weren’t they supporting it just now? Why would they oppose it before even starting the operation?
“Reorganizing is a good idea, but it will cause panic in them, which in turn will result in unnecessary chaos and maybe even negative reviews in society. So this is not a good choice,” Kong Xianming calmly explained, signaling for Hua Shengan to sit down before passing her the tea that he did not drink.
“Stabilizing the company will benefit its growth, which is why now is not a good time for reorganizing. We understand what you want to do. I never mentioned it in the meeting, but I’m giving you a suggestion now. Change the groupings a little bit, examine and verify the funds, and investigate each department’s account. Then you will know what to do.”
“I agree!” Sun Shuren immediately held up his hand.
He looked at Hua Shengan intently. “Think about what you want to do first before doing it and focus on the crucial parts, then everything would be much easier for you. You are only passive now because we were concerned with too many other factors, but we will help you however we can.”
“If so, then you guys can take charge of this matter. I will sign a document to give the two of you more authority in the company. We have to guard over what grandfather left behind! It cannot be ruined in my hands, nor can it change ownership!” Hua Shengan’s determined attitude lifted the elders‘ spirits. This is how she should be with his blood flowing in her, not the woman who only cared about flirting and had a narrow mindset. There is hope for Dingfeng Group!
“Miss, welcome back!” Aunt Rong immediately welcomed Hua Shengan when she walked into the house, looking at her with concern.
“I’m back.” Seeing Aunt Rong’s reaction, Hua Shengan looked toward the living room and scoffed. What tricks do they have up their sleeve this time?
“Aunt Rong, is dinner ready? I’m hungry.”
“Almost. Sir, Madam, and Ms. Ranran are already home. They are waiting for you to start dinner.”

Aunt Rong gestured her with a look to be careful before going into the kitchen.

When she walked to the back of the partition, Hua Shengan saw Lin Xue and Ranran sitting on the sofa anxiously. Both of them looked up at her the moment she walked in. A glint of hatred flashed in Hua Ranran’s eyes.
“An is home. Quickly wash your hands. We are about to eat. It’s so rare to have us all eating together.” Lin Xue grected Hua Shengan naturally, breaking the silence. Hua Shengan stopped in her tracks on the stairs. What are they trying to do?
“Got it. I’ll come down right after I change.” To their surprise, Hua Shengan replied before going upstairs, leaving the mother and daughter in astonishment. What is she playing at? Both of them thought as they looked at each other.
The atmosphere at the dining table was awkward. No one spoke, and there was only the sound of cutlery that clanked against the plates. Usually, Hua Ranran would’ve boasted about her achievements, making Hua Fan and Lin Xue laugh while Hua Shengan looked on. However, everyone was quiet today.
Hua Shengan held her head low, not saying anything, and focused on eating. She ignored the looks they gave her. Someone will definitely speak up eventually, but it won’t be her.
She felt ridiculous for being overbearing to them a few days ago. It was probably because my past self was awakened during a sudden incident without time for me to buffer, so the first thing I did was taking revenge for it. But now, I don’t want to do that anymore. I can’t let them off this easily. I want them to suffer in pain while they hold on to that dim glimmer of hope and choose between life and death. I want them to go through the same thing I did.
“An, eat some of this. Isn’t it your favorite?”
Hua Fan put a piece of rib on Hua Shengan’s plate and suspected something because of her silence. Is she really the same person who was cold and distant a few days ago?
“Ribs are Hua Ranran’s favorite,” Hua Shengan said faintly and pushed her plate away without looking up. “Ah? Right, I remember! Your favorite is steamed pork!” Hua Fan quickly put another piece of meat on her plate.
He put down his pride and looked at Hua Shengan, who didn’t bother to raise her head.
“This is Aunt Lin’s favorite.” Another emotionless sentence made Hua Fan stiffen. He always took these two dishes for other people, but not for her. He didn’t know what she liked to eat and felt bad as his expression became dejected.
“This is my fault. I thought the ribs and meat were fresh, so I had Aunt Rong cook it for you. Tomorrow I’ll ask Aunt Rong to cook some of An’s favorite dishes,” Lin Xue smiled and said when she saw Hua Fan’s weird expression. Then she pushed the dishes that Hua Shengan took previously in front of her and acted as if nothing happened between them.
Hua Shengan looked up at Lin Xue. The sudden eye contact surprised her as she could not hide the disdain and annoyance in her eyes in time. Lin Xue choked on her soup and coughed until the veins on her neck popped up.
“Mom, are you alright?” Hua Ranran walked behind Lin Xue and gently patted her back, but Hua Shengan still caught the disgust in her eyes.
“I’m fine. I didn’t notice that the soup was hot. Ranran, go finish your food and eat slowly, or you’ll have gastric pain again,” Lin Xue said softly, looking at Hua Fan.
