He Lin’s eyes were widened in shock when she looked up. She knew! At this point, she might as well be giving the company to someone else. Although it was President Hua, Hua Shengan did not seem to mind. Moreover, Hua Fan gave her some money and she stopped mentioning it afterwards.
“You are my secretary. I could’ve fired you for doing things behind my back and even made your reputation bad, but I don’t want to. Do you understand what I mean?”
He Lin looked at Hua Shengan in disbelief while the latter returned a mirthful smile. A chill ran down He Lin’s spine. This is a person full of schemes and tricks, and not someone who’s dumb and unknowing like she thought in the first place.
“You still have use for me?” She still couldn’t believe it. In the company, she was the type of person that wasn’t loyal to her boss. No one was willing to employ her.
“I told you, you still have some kindness in you. You didn’t sell me out entirely, so I wanted to give you a chance. It’s up to you if you want to take it or not.”
“I will!” He Lin replied eagerly without any hesitation and slammed both her hands on the table right after Hua Shengan finished her sentence. He Lin trembled as her emotions were all over the place.
“Ms. Hua, although I was referred here by President Hua, I wanted to come here too.” Seeing how worked up He Lin was, Hua Shengan felt like something was off. She looked at He Lin and waited for her to continue speaking.
“I was a student who was aided financially by your mother, Mrs. Hua. I grew up in an orphanage. She paid for my tuition fees and living costs. My dream was to repay her by working in Hua Group when I graduate from college. Even though she passed away before I graduated, I still applied to work in Hua Group,” He Lin took a deep breath and spilled out all the feelings she had kept in her heart for years. Her eyes were red as she looked at Hua Shengan.
“Not long after that, CEO Hua married the current Mrs. Hua. I wanted to resign at first until I saw how Hua Ranran bullied you when I attended the wedding, so I decided to stay and wait for you to grow up. You are the Hua family’s daughter, the heir to the family business. If I could be of help to you, then it would fulfill my wish too,” He Lin blurted out, looking at Hua Shengan with eyes filled with hope.
Hua Shengan suddenly understood something. Previously when she was jailed, she received daily necessities from someone anonymously. She asked everyone around her when she got out, but no one knew. He Lin also resigned from Dingfeng Group when Hua Fan took over the company.
“You watched me inherit the company from my grandfather, but you didn’t care and allowed my father to take away my stock in the company with ridiculous reasoning. You hinted to me before and was sad when I didn’t get it, yet you never gave up. You dealt with my father and watched if I would obey him entirely.”
Hua Shengan stood up and leaned forward with a glint in her eyes. “If I didn’t realize it sooner, you would’ve left and let my father take over Dingfeng Group, the company my grandfather left for my mother. You should feel sorry to my mother for not enlightening me!”
He Lin was stunned when Hua Shengan suddenly unleashed her wrath. Then she smiled with tears in her
eyes.
“You believed me. I’m sorry, Miss, I thought that my words meant nothing because you were a family, and you were so compromising towards them. But now, I am determined to stand by your side and help you.”

“Got it. Deal with my father as you should and cover for me. I will also investigate what you had said.”
Hua Shengan picked up the files and looked at them calmly. “Have you looked through these yet?”
“I have. It’s the payment for the latest production line in our factory.” Something twinkled in He Lin’s eyes when she heard Hua Shengan bring this up and raised her voice. As expected, Hua Shengan flipped open the file and pointed at the employee list for fund allocation.
“How have I not heard of it? What is with this factory?”
In the past, Hua Shengan never cared about the business at all. She devoted herself to Luo Tian and Hua Ranran’s ridiculous requests, so now she couldn’t judge clearly when it comes to the company.
“This factory belonged to President Hua before they switched to Dingfeng Group. The installation of the production line with the latest technology adopted from foreign countries had been completed, and according to the contract, we were supposed to pay them. But we delayed it a few times and today is the deadline.”
“What’s the operation cost to profit ratio?” Hua Shengan held the file tightly, waiting for He Lin’s answer.
“President Hua said that the Hua Group and Dingfeng Group are a family and they both belonged to you, so there is no difference. You also said something similar during the board of directors meeting, but…”
“But I didn’t give my father full authority, and I’m glad that my signature is needed when a large sum of money is used.”
Hua Shengan had a headache. She blamed herself for being so dumb and allowed herself to fall into their traps. She was guilty for her own death in her past, and she hated her previous self for that.
She waved her hand, signaling for He Lin to leave first. Hua Shengan wanted to pull Dingfeng Group away from Hua Group first and take back everything Hua Fan took from her.
Didn’t Hua Fan want grandfather’s Dingfeng Group? Then he should give me his Hua Group, as I am the Hua family’s daughter!
“He Lin, tell the financial department to stop the accounts and secretly inform the Chief Financial Officer, legal advisors, auditing department, planning department, and the board supervisors Sun Shuren and Kong Xianming for a meeting at one o’clock later.”
As she put the phone down, Hua Shengan’s eyes were cold. She gave off an aura as sharp as a blade with an apathetic glint in her eyes.
Now, she was a warrior on a battlefield, which was only meant for true fighters.
Those who came out from the meeting suppressed their emotions and stumbled out of the office to the common area to calm themselves down. Even so, there was still shock in their eyes.
“Mr. Sun, Mr. Kong, I was young and dumb! I’m sorry that I disappointed both of you.” Hua Shengan passed two cups of tea to Sun Shuren and Kong Xianming as she stood in front of them.
She apologized sincerely and trembled a little as the two elders watched her with red eyes and hands that quivered.
“An, we have been waiting for you to say that! To be honest, Kong and I were planning to retire soon. As your grandfather’s subordinates, we couldn’t just watch you give your grandfather’s hard work away to other people!”
