She sat on the bench and hesitated before dialing Xiao Chengjue’s number.
“Hello.” He picked up immediately with a weary voice.
“Mr. Xiao, I would like to request something from you.”
Hua Shengan was extremely careful. Although their relationship was a win–win deal, it was always her asking for help. She didn’t want to get dumped aside by him if he gets annoyed with her, so she had to reconsider everything she requested of him. Otherwise, all her hard work would go to waste.
“Now you know how to push your luck?” Xiao Chengjue raised his voice a little and dragged the last note. Hua Shengan’s heart jumped upon hearing that.
“With such good resources, I would be dumb not to use it! You are investing in me, after all.” Hua Shengan lowered her voice as her throat still ached. What she didn’t know was that her raspy voice intrigued him. Maybe he had enough of listening to voices that were way too sweet and fake, which made Hua Shengan’s voice comforting to the ears.

Then she realized that she hadn’t told him what she needed from him! It would be a loss for her if she satisfied his demands without getting anything out of him.

He Lin put her hand down when Hua Shengan didn’t take the pen and sign the document straight away. She thought for a while before holding out the pen again.
“The finance sector is waiting for the funds. If we stop the investment, then the factory will also stop operating, which will in turn cause a huge loss for us.”
Hua Shengan was expressionless when she looked up at He Lin. She never noticed that her secretary was more worried about her not signing documents than she herself. The pen He Lin held out was almost touching her face.

He Lin replied truthfully as she didn’t understand what Hua Shengan meant. A few days ago, Hua Shengan returned to the company and instantly fired Luo Tian, who was accused of murder. Is this still the same gentle and obedient Hua Shengan? The same person who willingly became a tool for Hua Fan?

She would not be able to survive here if she didn’t have a spy of her own, and He Lin seemed good enough for this position as she still had some conscience in her. It just depended on whether she could get He Lin to be on her side.
