Chapter 6 Ideal Woman
Adrian’s POV:
“Excuse me, I need to take this call.”
I picked up my phone. Seeing that it was Andy, I answered, “What is it?”
“Alpha, I’m sorry–I couldn’t carry out your instructions. Ms. Cruise was taken back to the estate by Mrs. Harlow.”
Andy quickly explained everything that had happened.
“Grandma just showed up out of nowhere?” I was caught off guard.
“I’m not sure why either.”
Then Andy added, “But from the way Mrs. Harlow talked, it seems she wants you to marry Ms. Cruise as your Luna.”
A wave of anger surged in my chest. “She’s dreaming.”
I hung up immediately.
Camila’s completely lost it–she wanted me to take a werewolf with no wolf spirit as Luna.
And that woman is way too suspicious. At all times, she just happened to appear when I’d been drugged with an aphrodisiac? That’s not a coincidence.
I snapped back to the present when I noticed Leticia still staring at me with a fiery intensity.
As expected, another woman was trying to catch my attention and work her way into becoming my mate.
“Do you have any other requests?” I asked impatiently, shooting her an annoyed glance.
Leticia smiled sweetly. “Just seeing that you’re safe is enough for me.”
She nodded gently, looking innocent and pure like a schoolgirl. “always get a little sense of satisfaction whenever I help someone in need.”
From the way she said it, I could tell she probably made a habit of playing the good Samaritan.
“Enough?”
“Yes.”

In Gotham’s high society, Leticia was known as the most admired woman–beautiful, intelligent, and the heir to an Alpha title.
Even though the Silverblood Pack was nothing more than a small, unimpressive pack, Leticia’s charisma had brought a lot of attention to the Dunnes.
Even I’d heard of her.

Just then, a server knocked and entered the room with our food.
“Alpha, let’s eat.”
“I’m sorry, but have to head out to an orphanage on the outskirts at 1:30. If I’m late, the kids will be disappointed.”
I
So not only did she save me from danger, but she also does charity work.
I had to admit–on the surface, Leticia was quite the “ideal woman“.
But something about her just didn’t sit right with me. She didn’t seem as sweet and innocent as she pretended to be.

Maybe it was because from the moment we met, my wolf, Daniel, had disliked her scent.
I suddenly remembered what Andy had said on the phone and asked her directly, “If you’re so good at helping others, would you mind helping me with one more thing?”
“What is it?”
“Pretend to be my mate.”
“Your mate?”
She looked stunned–then clearly thrilled.
After a pause, she blinked her big, innocent eyes and asked, “Alpha, what do you mean?”
“My family’s trying to arrange a marriage for me, but I’m not interested. So, I need you to pretend to be my mate. Once it’s done, you can name whatever reward you want.”
“Why me?”
“You’re free to decline, of course.”
I looked at her calmly, my tone indifferent.
“I … ‘

Leticia barely hesitated a second before beaming with joy. “If you’re asking, how could I say no?”
First, she played the shy and reserved act. Then the moment I said she could refuse, she jumped at the chance. It wasn’t hard to figure out her little game.
She was no different from the rest–just another woman
dreaming of becoming my mate.
I studied her, a sarcastic smile tugging at my lips, while she stared at me with those infatuated eyes.
At this point, I was starting to question whether her “rescue” had been a coincidence or a carefully planned setup.
I might need her to play the part for now, but I was going to have someone look into her.
