Kai’s Point of View

The only place I hadn’t gone looking for Chelsea Findley was in hell, there were a lot of things surrounding that accident, and I had been in a coma for three months when I woke up my mother told me that she already had the girl responsible expelled, and even though my memory was hazy, I wasn’t completely oblivious to what had truly transpired that day

I knew for one that Chelsea didn’t push me, even though she had threatened to. I stepped on my shoelaces and fellit was a pretty bad fall and I almost died

When my secretary submitted the resumes of the candidates enlisting in my company, I simply told him to leave them on the table. Usually, they would remain there, and then he would simply come back to brief me on who was assigned to the job

I was mostly uninterested

But today I was feeling a little bored, so I decided to glance through it, but then my eyes caught a strange yet familiar person on a passport, she looked like her

She looked like Chelsea, my Chelsea

I picked the file, and my eyes narrowed, coincidentally they had the same name, but the only difference was that the Chelsea I remembered was blond, and this one was redhaired; after a few minutes of pondering, I simply asked the secretary to invite her in so I can personally do an evaluation

And what a surprise

You don’t have to hire me, just ignore the fact that I came here.” Her voice turned pleading but I chuckled, that sounded easy according to her

She didn’t know the effort I had made to find her

No, you don’t have a choice,” I was quick to remind her, and I was ready to use everything I had against her to make sure she stayed. Think of this as a payback for everything you did to me.”

Her voice cracked as she began her explanation….

I was expelled, and thanks to that I couldn’t get into another school, I had to do some online business degree, believe me, my life is ruined and there is nothing more to get out of it.” She explained. I have lived the last seven years of my life repenting for everything I did to you, believe me I am truly sorry.”

If you are sorry, then you should do as I say and make it up to me.She fell silent

Accepting your job offer is making it up to you?she paused for a while, her green eyes meeting mine. Why?”

I am sure, Miss Findley is familiar with the word revenge.” I wondered, my lips lifting at the bottom. I want to humiliate you the same way you have done to me. Tell me, is there a better reason?”

After a few seconds of silence, she raised her handkerchief to her eyes and dabbed on it

Fine, then, I will do it.She answered, and I blinked in surprise, I wasn’t expecting her to agree to it just like that, but she did. I will do everything you ask me without complaining, to show you just how sorry I am.”

A small smile formed on her lips, and for a fleeting moment, a surge of anger bubbled within me. It w Chelsea but at myself. I had spent years convincing myself that I was searching for her to exact revenge, ut deep down, I knew that was a lie

The truth was far more complicated, far more frustrating. Even after all these years, the foolish thumping in my chest

hadn’t faded. That maddening, feeling lingered, and 1 hated it with every feber of my being 1 was supposed to despice thin

Yes, she hadn’t pushed me down the stairs, but she had bullied me and humiliated me. You, despite all that, I found myself drawn to her, It was a cruel joke that made me question my sanity. Did I secretly enjoy the point Was 1 that much ofa

I didn’t know

There were times I tried to stand up for myself, but I just couldn’t, and even as the sat before me, there were a lot of questions running through my mind, a lot of things that I would love to tell her or ask her, but I just couldn’t. Because! don’t know what to say first. And I don’t want to sound desperate or pushy. Neither do I want to let my feelings or intentions be known, unless I’m sure that I’m able to control hers. I would never let her make a fool out of me again

Clearing my throat, I forced a neutral tone into my voice. Meet with my secretary, Benjamin. He’ll explain your responsibilities. I expect no mistakes, especially from you

Chelsea nodded, her movements stiff and hesitant, and rose from the chair. Just as she reached the door, it burst open with a dramatic flair, slamming against the wall

She stumbled back, colliding with the figure who had just entered. I groaned inwardly the moment I recognized himK202, my older halfbrother. Of course, he’d barge in unannounced, probably with some new crisis in tow

Before Chelsea could fall, Kade’s hands shot out, grabbing her arms to steady her. His movements were quick, but the way his hands slid down to her waist made my stomach churn. My eyes narrowed as I followed the motion, my irritation flaring

This is a very beautiful woman you have here, Kai,Kade remarked, his signature smirk plastered across his face. He steadied Chelsea on her feet, his hands lingering a second too long. From where I stood, I couldn’t see her face, but I’d bet it was flushed red. The thought made my jaw clench.

Kade turned his attention to me, his smirk widening. Oooh, look how angry you are. Is she your girlfriend?”

I rolled my eyes, resisting the urge to snap at him. Instead, I straightened my posture, trying to mask my irritation. Kade, what do you want?I asked coldly, ignoring his taunt
