Chapter 5%
“Ask her!” I ordered Lucian as he entered the office where he had us waiting.
My body was scratched from her, but she had a much bigger bruise on her forehead from when I hit her with the base of the table. “Do I really have to be bothered at work for this petty fight of yours?” he asked. I wasn’t sure who he was talking to.”
“She’s still hallucinating. She’s accusing me of planting poison on Lorde. Does she think I’d risk your heir? The future alpha?” she said.”
Lucian looked at me, his jaw ticking in frustration. Just when things couldn’t get worse, Lorde walked in.
“What’s going on, Dad?” he asked.}
My son immediately went to Beverly’s side, and that woman had the audacity to cuddle him in her arms.
“Your stepmother is accusing me of giving you the poison you used on her. Did I do that, love?” she asked sweetly, like a child begging for candy.”
“I didn’t say that. You spoke with our maid. You told her to give Lorde the poison!” I shouted.”
Lucian sighed, clearly dismissing the situation.
“Of course not,” my son said. “No one gave me the poison. I found it and decided to use it,” he said proudly, defending Beverly, who smirked happily at me.
“No, Lorde. They made sure you’d see the poison so you could use it against me,” I countered.”
“Enough, Hestia!” Lucian snapped. I swallowed the pain and met his cold stare. “If you’re still bitter about Lorde’s prank, go buy something to make yourself feel better instead of taking out your anger on everyone else.“}
I shut my eyes tightly, trying to calm myself. Is he stupid? Did he really think this was that simple? I stood up.”
“That woman you trusted so much is trying to raise a murderer through my son–“>
“I am not your son! You killed my real mother! Can’t you just leave without causing such dramas? You’re too much of a burden at this point,” Lorde said, sneering.”
My shoulders dropped as I looked at each of them, realizing they were all against me. None of them will listen to me. Ever.}
I nodded slowly. “Okay…” I said, exhausted.
Lucian stared at me, surprised by my quick submission unlike how I fought for my side before.
“Let me get my things then.” I turned and left them there.
There was nothing I could do if he didn’t want to believe me. I didn’t want Lorde to get hurt, but who brought someone into his life who would destroy him? Him. His father. They wanted her. And besides… I had nothing left to prove. Maybe I should just live quietly. No more arguments.
But as soon as I entered the room, Lucian followed me.
“What things are you taking, huh? Are you seriously leaving us? You’d divorce me for real?” he asked, angry.”
I nodded, not saying a word. What was there to say?

“I won’t,” I said calmly.
I can never take it back, Hestia. I will never take you back once you humiliate me like this
I grabbed the luggage I had packed days ago. He looked stunned when I placed it beside our bed. He stared at it as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Then his eyes darkened. His jaw clenched, his nostrils flared, his eyes sharp, and the corners of his lips twitched. “Once you turn your back on me and step outside this house, don’t think about coming back, Hestia,” he warned.}
I tied my hair back and put on my blazer.
“I’ll send the divorce papers tomorrow after I sign them,” instead, I said.
I glanced at him, and saw disbelief in his eyes.
“I’m not playing anymore, Hestia. My patience is running thin!” he hissed.”
“So is mine,” I said. “I’ve made up my mind. I’ll divorce you, Lucian. I grew tired.“}
He swallowed hard. For a second, I saw fear flash in his eyes–not because I was leaving, but because divorce was a disgrace for an alpha. No alpha in our pack’s history had ever been left by his Luna. The wife is the pillar of their strength. I tried my best to be that for him, but he never saw me that way. Not once did I feel like I was his source of strength.
I grabbed my luggage and began pulling it out of the room. He followed with his eyes.
“Don’t come back, Hestia. Once you step outside this door, there’s no crawling back to me. I won’t accept you anymore!” he shouted.}
He followed me to the living room, and I saw my son, Lorde, watching TV with Beverly. When he saw the luggage, his eyes widened. He stood up, stunned.}
“I’m leaving…” I said quietly. I waited for him to stop me, maybe apologize, or say he didn’t want me gone. But he didn’t.”
He sat back down. “Then leave. Don’t come back,” he said coldly.”
I sighed and walked toward the door. Lucian talked again in different warnings.}
“I know this is just your way of throwing a tantrum, Hestia. Don’t expect me to come after you. I won’t.“@
I didn’t answer anymore. This wasn’t a tantrum. This was me…choosing myself after years of giving my life to them. I want to live my third life now. In peace and with freedom.”
