“Mommy” my son cried in his sleep. “I’m s–sorry. I’ll be a g–good… good boy. C–come back, Mommy.”

I nodded and followed her inside, to the same house I used to visit when Chesca was still alive. Now I am here, begging for her other daughter.
“Lucian, Hestia is actually traveling. She told me she threw away her phone and got a new one, but she only wants to receive emergency messages or calls.“@
“But this is our son,” I told her. “He is the emergency. He needs her more than anything else.”W
Sadness filled her expression. I took her hand, nearly falling to my knees again.
“Please, I need Hestia. My son and I, we cannot live without her. We will not survive without her.”
“But she wants out, Lucian,” she replied, and my shoulders dropped. Her voice was filled with sorrow.
“Hestia agreed to care for Lorde until he could manage, and to marry you until you and your son could stand on your own. I just hoped, after five years, you’d be a real family and she wouldn’t have to break the deal.“}
My brows furrowed. What deal? She had told me before that HEstia was the one who suggested I marry Hestia, saying Hestia was willing to be a mother to my child. She had pushed the idea of marriage and being a family.
“What deal?” I asked coldly.
She sat down and let out a long sigh.
“That if she stays with you and raises Lorde for five years, I would let her live her life however she wanted. That was our deal. And she wants it fulfilled.”
