Chapter 15
At that very moment, Chelsea lay in a hospital bed thousands of miles away. When she left, her body hadn’t yet recovered.
Along the way, she had continued to bleed, and severe anemia caused her to faint multiple times. Eventually, she was forced to stop and check into a hospital for treatment.
On the third day of her hospital stay, she received a message from Deacon. It was said that the documents had been delivered to Adam. He had seemingly lost his mind and was searching for her everywhere.
But Chelsea felt nothing.
She no longer loved or hated Adam. Whatever he did no longer stirred a single ripple in her heart.
“Thank you, Mr. Munro. You don’t need to update me on Adam anymore.”
“Luna, are you alright? If there’s anything you need, just let me know,” Deacon said, his voice carrying a subtle trace of
concern he tried to conceal.
Chelsea offered a faint smile.
“I’m doing well, thank you. If you’re free, I’d appreciate it if you could visit my parents on the anniversary of their passing.”
“Of course.” Deacon agreed without hesitation.
After thanking him again, Chelsea ended the call.
Once her body fully recovered, Chelsea resumed her journey. She once again booked every flight departing within the
same timeframe.
She had grown up with Adam. She knew how intelligent and resourceful he was. If he didn’t give up, he would eventually
find her.
This was the only way she could slow him down.
Her original plan was to keep traveling, never settling in one place. But she unexpectedly found herself stuck in the
towering mountains of Luxenport.
Halfway up the mountain, there was a small, remote town. The scenery was breathtaking, but the town itself was deeply
impoverished.
Its residents were only elderly she-wolves and abandoned children. There was no school in the town.
Most of the children lived in the town until they came of age, after which they would become rogues.
Chelsea had stumbled upon the town by accident, after losing her way. The place had basic essentials like electricity and water, but no internet, no entertainment, just simplicity and silence.
Yet on her first day there, she was warmly welcomed. The elderly and children were curious about the snacks and equipment she had brought. The children surrounded her, eagerly listening as she explained how everything worked. The townspeople even brought out their best possessions to treat her.

Chelsea was stunned. In today’s world, she hadn’t expected to find a town so pure and untouched by greed.
Thus, she decided to stay, at least for a while.
Each day, she woke to birdsong and chirping insects in the forests. Beneath the vast blue sky and drifting white clouds, she found herself healing, slowly, from the inside out.
On the third day of her stay, a sudden wildfire swept down the mountain.
A home belonging to an elderly she-wolf named Sharon was engulfed in flames. The whole town rushed to help, working
together to get Sharon out safely.
“Chelsea, stay back! We’ve got this,” urged Traci, another she-wolf who had taken Chelsea in. She shoved her away and
told her to go hide in somewhere safe.
“Let me help, please! Many hands make light work,” Chelsea insisted.
She had been pampered all her life, and had been cherished and spoiled by Adam for years. In truth, therefore, she didn’t
know how to do much of anything.
But in that moment, she desperately scooped up water with her bare hands, trying her best to fight the fire and help save
Sharon.
The fire was simply too intense. Ash and soot quickly clouded her vision. Her head grew heavier by the second, and
before she knew it, her body gave out. She collapsed unconscious.
When she finally woke up, the fire had been extinguished.
Traci sat beside her, looking at her with aching concern.
“You burned with a fever for three days, sweet girl. This town is not the right place for someone like you. You should go back to the city.”
As Chelsea stared at the worry and reluctance etched across Traci’s face, she suddenly realized what she needed to do.
