Chapter 11

Adam completely panicked.

His knuckles turned white as he gripped shards of broken glass, his face draining of color in an instant.

Chelsea changed her identity information?

Was she really planning to leave him for good?

No, that was impossible.

They loved each other so much. How could Chelsea bear to leave him?

Adam smashed his phone to the ground, his eyes bloodshot. He refused to believe Chelsea was really gone.

He stood up and stormed out of the pack house, only to bump straight into Anna, who was holding a box with reddened

eyes.

“Adam, this was sent by Chelsea. What does she mean by this?” Anna’s hands trembled as she opened the box.

Inside lay a bloodied lifelike baby doll.

There was also a voice recorder. Chelsea’s venomous voice echoed from within, repeating the same message over and

over:

“Anna, you seduced Adam. You and that thing in your belly deserve to die. I won’t stop seeking revenge. This time, I won’t

give Adam the chance to catch me again.”

Adam’s expression changed instantly. As he listened to her familiar voice, the guilt in his eyes slowly faded and was

replaced by a rising chill.

Chelsea had changed her information just to go into hiding, or to take revenge on Anna?

Between believing she had left him forever and believing she was plotting revenge, Adam preferred the latter.

“Adam, how did Chelsea know? She hates me so much. What should I do?” Anna’s voice shook. “I can’t keep this child. I

can’t…” she turned to leave, muttering about getting an abortion.

But Adam grabbed her and pulled her into his arms. “With me here, no one can hurt you.”

“Chelsea’s grown bold. She actually dares to go against me.”

A dark expression spread across his face. His fear and unease were now completely buried beneath a rising fury.

He furrowed his brows tightly and glanced at the living room, now a complete wreck. Holding Anna tightly, he walked out, leaving the box with the bloody doll lying on the floor.

Unnoticed, Anna’s lips curled into a vicious, smug smile.

Thankfully, she had reacted quickly enough to stage this scene, making it look like Chelsea had gone into hiding to seek revenge. That way, Adam would feel disappointed in Chelsea all over again and refocus his attention on her.

Chelsea was gone. Anna would never let her come back.

Adam took Anna to the Pack hospital and stayed with her day and night. But she still couldn’t rest easy, waking from nightmares in the middle of the night.

Her mental state deteriorated day by day. She couldn’t eat, and the baby in her belly began to suffer too.

Adam grew more worried. Every day that Chelsea remained missing was another day of anxiety for Anna.

He made up his mind to host a dinner party-using it as a public declaration of his relationship with Anna, hoping to lure Chelsea out. He just wanted a chance to explain everything to her.

As long as she stopped targeting Anna, he would love her like he used to. He wouldn’t hold her actions during this time against her.

On the day of the dinner party, Adam appeared with Anna, who was dressed to the nines. The crowd clapped knowingly

and offered their blessings.

The thought of becoming the Luna of the pack rightfully and publicly made Anna’s lips curl into a satisfied smile. And her smile never faded. She graciously accepted everyone’s congratulations.

But Adam showed no sign of joy. He ignored the well-wishes, his eyes fixed absentmindedly on the pack hall’s entrance.

He was waiting for Chelsea.

He believed she would show up and question him.

Time ticked by slowly.

Just as the pack elders were inviting Adam and Anna onto the stage to speak, the doors to the pack hall slowly creaked

open.
