On the plane, Riley laughed and handed me her phone. The top trending headline clearly read: “Shocking! Julian Marshall, Heir to Marshall Group, Arrested and Jailed!”
“You really called the police?”
I smiled and nodded. She lightly punched my shoulder. “Nice job!”
I looked down at the scars on my body. Julian, this is what you deserve.
Julian, who had always been lawless, was locked away, becoming the laughingstock of his circle.
All his fair–weather friends, who used to flatter him, vanished without a trace.
Even his grandfather, who had always backed him, was utterly disappointed and began promoting Julian’s uncle as the
successor.
Julian couldn’t understand where he went wrong.
The harsh fluorescent lights of the interrogation room glared, making it hard to open his eyes?
“Cooperate and it’ll go easier on you. Resist, and things get worse! Speak honestly!”
The police officer slapped a folder on the table, stirring up dust.
Julian found all of this incredibly unfamiliar. He couldn’t help but try to threaten them. “Do you even know who the Marshalls are?”
The young officer smiled. “So what? The Marshalls can disregard the law and do as they please?”
Julian stood up excitedly, his silver handcuffs gleaming coldly.
“Quinn was my wife! I can’t even make decisions about my own wife’s body? Is it really necessary to arrest me for a marital dispute?”
The officer pushed Julian back into his seat. “You and the victim, Quinn, are divorced. You intentionally harmed the victim’s body and, without her consent, forcibly transplanted a 5cm by 5cm piece of skin from her arm. This constitutes intentional assault and illegally trafficking human organs.”

“Mr. Marshall, your actions are serious criminal offenses. Do you understand?”
Julian slumped back in his chair. “I… I… I want to settle with her!”
“I want to see Quinn! I refuse to believe she’d be so cruel to me!”
The officer forcefully knocked on the table again. “Unfortunately, the victim strongly insists on no settlement. She only wants you to serve time!”
The case dragged on from spring to winter, finally sentencing Julian to three years in federal prison.
I didn’t return home, entrusting my lawyer to handle my defense throughout.
Julian was completely a prisoner now.
