News of Stella’s death reached the prison, but Julian didn’t even flinch.
He was writing his 101st letter to Quinn. The previous 100 letters had gone unanswered.
But he still wrote, only this way could he ease his guilt.
He had fallen in love with 19–year–old Quinn at first sight when he was 20.
Back then, he was like a lovesick fool, waiting for her outside the art studio every day.
Then they would walk home together under the cover of moonlight.
He still remembered her favorite bubble tea, remembered her dancing just for him under the moonlight.
He remembered her shyly handing him a painting, a handsome, gentle young man on it–him.
“This is my first portrait. What do you think?”
He bought an entire building just to display that one painting of hers.
They were so in love back then, until his family forced them to marry. The Marshall family’s eldest grandson needed a boy to solidify his position.
He watched the girl reluctantly put away her trophies, one by one, to marry him and become a devoted wife.
Their first year, they quickly welcomed their baby. On the baby’s first birthday, he suggested they take the child on a trip.
He was too eager then, driving too fast, and the child died instantly.
Quinn was covered in blood, clinging to the lifeless child, refusing to let go.
After the child was buried, Quinn completely stopped talking to him.
Her sparkling eyes grew dull, and the eyes once filled with love were now filled with disgust.
He began to despise himself too, constantly drinking to numb himself.
Until a manipulative woman crawled into his bed and Quinn found out.
He saw Quinn’s frail back and rushed over, wanting to explain.

He saw Quinn’s frail back and rushed over, wanting to explain.
But he found her crying, tears streaming down her face. “Julian, you bastard!”
This was the first time Quinn had spoken to him in three years since the baby died.
He felt his heart would leap out of his chest.
From that day on, he kept bringing women home. It was the only way Quinn would say a few more words to him.
But then he got too deep into the role, acting more and more excessively, even accidentally causing the death of their
second child.
He completely lost control, not knowing what to do, so he just pretended to be heartless.
Only to provoke Quinn again. As long as Quinn was still willing to talk to him, he could pretend she still loved him.
