Chapter 22
The brothers nodded their heads, their eyes filled with a hint of helplessness.
Gauge’s heart felt like it was tightly clenched, causing him so much pain that he could hardly catch
his breath.
His chest was wrapped in thick bandages, with faint traces of blood seeping through, but he seemed to be oblivious to the pain as he lifted the covers and prepared to get out of bed.
No, it was not possible to get married, I had to go and stop it.
Jova was mine, Jova was mine!
Gauge! Are you crazy?! his brothers quickly stepped forward to stop him, their voices filled with
concern and helplessness. “Your injuries haven’t healed yet! Kamren was really brutal, he shattered five of your ribs, and you still insist on going, risking your life?!”
Gauge’s eyes were filled with madness, and his voice was hoarse as if it was squeezed out from his throat, “Losing her made me feel like I was better off dead! Don’t stop me!”
His voice carried long–suppressed pain and despair, as if he wanted to release all of his emotions. The brothers were stunned, as they had never seen Gauge like this before.
The man who used to be aloof and looked down on everyone, now, in this moment, appeared like a
madman who had lost everything, with tears filling his eyes.
Gauge… someone whispered to him, their voice tinged with a hint of reluctance.
Gauge, however, as if he hadn’t heard, pushed away the hands of his brothers and staggered out.
His chest hurt so much that he could barely stand, but he gritted his teeth and walked forward, step
by step.
The brothers looked at each other and finally someone sighed, “Forget it, let’s help him. If we
continue like this, he will really go crazy.‘
A group of people hurriedly supported Gauge and rushed to the wedding venue.
The wedding venue was decorated in a romantic and luxurious manner, with flowers, lights, and music. Everything looked so beautiful.
Gauge, however, felt that all of this was ironic, ironic about his foolishness and arrogance.
He pushed open the door and stumbled into the auditorium. All eyes were focused on him, and whispers filled the air.
Gauge, however, seemed as if he hadn’t seen anything, his gaze fixed directly on Jovany.

She was wearing a pure white wedding dress, looking as beautiful as a fairy stepping out of a
painting.
Her face carried a faint smile, with a gentle yet determined look in her eyes. But that smile was not
for him.
Gauge’s heart felt like it was being tightly squeezed, causing him so much pain that he could hardly catch his breath. He walked quickly towards Jovany, his voice hoarse, “Jova, don’t marry him…
don’t marry him…”
Jovany lifted his head, with a hint of complex emotions in his eyes, “Gauge, why did you
come?”
Gauge’s voice carried a hint of pleading, “Jova, I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have used you,
shouldn’t have hurt you. But… I truly fell in love with you. Can you give me a chance? I will spend the
rest of my life making it up to you, loving you.”
Jovany’s eyes turned cold, and there was no warmth in his voice. “Gauge, I no longer like you. I
made it clear in that text message – I am not like you, pretending to love when you don’t, and
pretending not to love when you do. What I said, it’s all true. When I say I don’t love anymore, it means I truly don’t love anymore. Right now, my heart only belongs to Kamren.”
When he heard that she had even changed her address, from “brother” to Kamren, Gauge’s mind
buzzed like it had been struck by lightning.
His face instantly turned pale, and there was a slight tremor in his voice, “Jova, don’t be like this…
don’t be like this…”
Jovany didn’t say anything, but just looked at him coldly, without a hint of wavering in his eyes.
Gauge’s heart felt like it was tightly clenched, causing him so much pain that he could barely stand.
He suddenly turned around and looked at Kamren, his voice carrying a hint of pleading. “Kamren, didn’t you say you wanted to see me on my knees? Well, I’m kneeling now! However long you want me to kneel, I will kneel! I beg you to give Jova back to me, give my precious back to me!”
He finished speaking and with a bang, he knelt down on the ground, his knees hitting the floor heavily, making a dull sound.
In order to obtain what he loved the most, he abandoned what he was most proud of.
Everyone was stunned, the whispers instantly disappeared, and the entire auditorium fell into complete silence.
Kamren looked at him coldly, with a hint of mockery in his voice, “Gauge, do you think kneeling
down can make up for everything? Jova is my precious, I won’t give her to you.”

Gauge’s face turned pale instantly, his voice trembling slightly. “Kamren, please… I don’t want. anything anymore, the project, the land, the company, I’ll give it all to you, just give me one thing in return, I only want her… I only want her…‘
Kamren didn’t say anything, he just waved his hand, signaling the bodyguard to drag Gauge out.
The bodyguard stepped forward and grabbed Gauge’s arm, trying to drag him away.
Gauge, however, clung tightly to the floor, his nails almost sinking into the wooden boards. There was a hint of despair in his voice, “I wouldn’t leave! I wouldn’t leave!”
Kamren sneered, his voice tinged with a hint of mockery, “Fine, if you us, as we hold the wedding.”
won’t leave, then just watch
The bodyguards quickly swarmed up and held him back, but he tried to break free and couldn’t.
Gauge could only sit in his seat, painfully watching Jovany and Kamren.
His heart was bleeding, with Jovany’s words echoing in his ears – “I don’t love you anymore, I really don’t.”
The wedding continued, and the voice of the priest echoed in the chapel, “Kamren, do you take Jovany to be your wife, to love her, honor her, and protect her, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, until the end of your life?”
Kamren’s voice was firm and gentle, “I was willing.”
The priest turned to Jovany, “Jovany, do you willingly marry Kamren, loving him, respecting him, and protecting him, whether in poverty or wealth, in sickness or in health, until the end of life?”
Jovany’s voice was gentle yet firm, “I was willing.”
A buzzing sound echoed in Gauge’s mind, as if something had collapsed with a bang.
