Chapter 18
These days, he lived in unbearable pain.
While drinking, he held his phone, and on the screen was the text message he had read at least a thousand times – “Let’s break up, I don’t love you anymore.”
Every time he looked at it, Jovany’s smiling eyes would flash through his mind.
It seemed as if it was carved into his memory, unable to be erased.
Whether awake or asleep, his mind was filled with her.
Her figure, her voice, even the faint fragrance on her body, were like invisible shackles, tightly binding his heart.
Gauge never thought that he would become like this.
He used to be the aloof and ruthless Gauge, the man who would stop at nothing for revenge. But now, he is like a lost and drunken soul, immersed in alcohol and memories, unable to break free.
He didn’t understand why he was so miserable.
Jovany left, but her departure felt like she also took his heart away.
He vaguely realized something, but he was always unwilling to admit it, or rather, afraid to admit
- it.
He was afraid to admit that he had fallen in love with her, afraid to acknowledge that the woman he had once seen as a tool had already become an indispensable part of his life.
But at this moment, he could no longer hold back.
Looking at the shocked brothers, he emphasized once again.
I fell in love with her! What a bullshit revenge plan, it got me into trouble! Now she’s gone, and I’m here in unbearable pain!
His voice echoed throughout the entire villa, carrying long–suppressed pain and anger.
Sloane stood aside, her eyes instantly turning red.
She watched the person she liked in pain, and her heart ached as if it were being cut by a knife.
The next second, she suddenly dropped the bottle of alcohol in her hand, her voice sharp, “You like her, then go after her! Beg her, coax her, kneel down, pester her relentlessly! Just go and win her
do?” back! Drinking here will only drink yourself to death, what else can you

Gauge froze, a hint of confusion flickering in his eyes. “Can I still win her back? Will she forgive me?”
There was a slight tremor in Sloane’s voice as she said, “Are you willing to die for her?”
Gauge answered without hesitation, “I was willing.”
The brothers looked at him in shock, stuttering as they gazed at this man who was different from
before.
Damn it… Gauge, you… Is it really true?
Sloane sneered and handed over a plane ticket, “If you’re willing, then go and bring her back! It’s the last flight today, go and get her back! If you don’t bring her back, I will look down on you!”
Gauge’s eyes snapped open, as if being awakened by a bucket of cold water. He abruptly grabbed a bottle of alcohol and poured it over his head, the icy sensation completely sobering him up. He
stood up, his voice resolute, “I’m going after her.”
Seeing the situation, the brothers quickly stepped forward to stop him, “Gauge, you can’t do this!
You can’t scare Jovany like this!”
Gauge only then realized his sorry state. He lowered his head and looked at his clothes stained with
alcohol, furrowing his brow. “You’re right, I can’t go see her like this.”
He rushed into the bathroom, quickly took a shower, and changed into clean clothes.
He stood in front of the wardrobe, but hesitated.
He searched through his clothes one by one, as if he wanted to present his best side to Jovany.
Finally, he chose a well–tailored black suit, which accentuated his slender figure and gave him a
cold and stern demeanor.
The brothers looked at him and couldn’t help but say, “Gauge, are you going to propose?”
Gauge did not answer, but instead lowered his head to tidy his cuffs, with a hint of nervousness in
his eyes.
Seeing the situation, the brothers no longer made jokes. Someone suggested, “Gauge, let’s go with you. In case something happens, it’s good to have someone to take care of you.”
Gauge nodded, without refusing.
He knew that his current state was not good, having his brothers by his side at least could help him
calm down a bit.

Before leaving, he looked at Sloane with a complex expression in his eyes and asked, “Why did you help me?”
Sloane smiled, but there were tears in her eyes.
I said that I loved you. Loving someone means that I can also tolerate them loving someone else, as long as they are happy. She paused, her voice lowering, “When you’re gone, please apologize to her for me. Jealousy blinded my eyes in the past, which is why I treated her so badly.”
Gauge didn’t say anything, just nodded and turned around, leaving the villa.
On the way to the airport, Gauge’s mind kept replaying everything about Jovany.
He had never imagined that he would be so crazy for a woman, to the extent of even sacrificing all his pride and dignity to win her back.
