Chapter 10
When I arrived at the airport smoothly, Devon had been waiting for a long time. When she approached, I greeted her with a big smile.
“Adele, over here!”
Adeline spotted Devon waving frantically at her in the waiting hall and hurriedly approached him. “Have you been waiting for a long time, Devon?”
“I didn’t wait long.” He shook his head, first answering her question, then taking her luggage to check–in, and continuing to ask, “Have you made up your mind?”
It’s not that Devon didn’t believe Adeline, he was just a little worried that she had lived under her family’s arrangements for so long, and now she might feel a bit uncomfortable suddenly escaping.
Little did he know, she reached into her bag and solemnly pulled out the divorce certificate she had just received. Nodding her head with determination, she said, “Don’t worry, Devon. The decision I’ve made, I will never regret.‘
“Well, let’s go!”

Two people walked side by side, this time, neither of them was left behind.

When Brent returned home, it was already evening. Normally, there would be a light on in his villa,
but this time it was pitch black, and he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face.
“Adele… Adele?”
He called out “Adeline” twice, but received no response. He wondered to himself, “Has she already fallen asleep?”
He fumbled and turned on the light. The empty villa still made him feel a little uncomfortable. He muttered that he would take her to go shopping in a couple of days and buy some things to fill it up.
Remembering the message Adeline sent him at noon, he walked towards the living room. Speaking of which, she was already four months pregnant, but still so thin, surprisingly showing no signs of pregnancy. It seems like she needs to eat more.
In the living room, there was no ultrasound as imagined on the table, only a dark red notebook.
He was a bit strange, picked it up, but his pupils shrank in fear at the three silver words “Divorce Certificate” on the cover.
“He was mischievous again, scaring me with these things, and he did it quite convincingly.”
Although he said so, Brent’s hand holding the divorce certificate was trembling slightly. He quickly

walked upstairs and stood in front of the master bedroom door. Just as he was about to enter, his footsteps suddenly stopped. He gripped the doorknob as if he could hear his thumping heartbeat, hesitating to push open the door in front of him.
He was really scared, afraid that if he pushed open the door, he would have to face a fact that he
could no longer avoid.
But how is that possible?
She married him when she was twenty years old, and at the age of twenty–three, she bore him a child. How could she possibly bear to suddenly leave him?
And he never signed a divorce agreement, nor did he go to handle it, so this divorce certificate must
be fake.
Brent took a deep breath and pushed open the door.
The room was meticulously arranged, but Adeline was not there.
Married for three years, Adeline had never stayed out overnight. The divorce certificate fell to the
ground with a “thud,” but he didn’t have the mind to care. He walked straight towards the
wardrobe, intending to open the closet door and check the situation, but his hand suddenly lost
strength and he couldn’t push open the door.

He slowed down and raised his hand again. The wardrobe door was opened, and the clothes of the
two people who used to be squeezed together were now reduced to only his various shirts and suits.
No piece of clothing belonging to Adeline could be found anymore.
He felt that his body temperature had dropped significantly, and he felt cold all over, causing him to
start trembling uncontrollably. He couldn’t even manage to make the simple action of taking out
his phone and calling her.
After a long time, the dial tone of the telephone finally rang.
The voice that could be heard was not the familiar voice of Adeline, but a cold and emotionless
female voice.
“Sorry, the user you dialed is currently unavailable…”
Brent stumbled and picked up the divorce certificate that had fallen on the doorstep. Opening it, he saw a single person’s photo with a stamped seal on it, and the divorce certificate number below was incredibly clear.
His eyes turned red in an instant, unable to believe, yet forced to believe.
This divorce certificate was real.
