Chapter 19

At the door stood a tall man, his face dark and cold like ice chips. When Eloise locked eyes with him, her pupils slightly constricted.

It was Leon.

When Leon saw Eloise, there was a hint of disbelief in his eyes. Yvonne had told him that Eloise was already mar- ried, but he didn’t believe it.

The outside world all said Eloise had married Mr. Bronner, but he never actually saw their wedding with his own

eyes.

Leon sent someone to investigate, saying that the Bronner family wanted Eloise to take a break and postpone the wed- ding for a while.

So he decided to crash Eloise and Zackery’s wedding, ruining their special day.

When Leon really saw Eloise putting on a wedding dress for someone else, his heart felt like it was being cut open by a knife, and waves of pain made his lips turn white.

Eloise was as beautiful as he had imagined, so radiant and dazzling. But what was different was that she was not wearing white wedding gown, but a colorful dress.

Leon was a bit confused, but when he saw Eloise’s icy gaze the moment she saw him, he understood.

Eloise was telling him that she had moved on. She no longer liked the traditional wedding she had once wanted to have with him.

When he realized, Leon’s breath caught in his throat, his fingers clenched tightly around the ring in his palm, each breath feeling like needles piercing his chest, the pain almost making him unable to stand.

He lost the ring that Eloise had made for him, so he made a pair himself to make up for it. Leon thought this would become their wedding rings.

It was only when he saw the dove egg on the woman’s ring finger that he realized how cheap his own ring was.

There was a shadow in his eyes.

The security guards came to drive him away, but no matter how hard they pushed him, Leon remained unmoved. He just stood there, stubbornly looking at Eloise.

Leon couldn’t believe that Eloise, who had loved him for so many years, no longer had any feelings for him.

Zackery didn’t speak, and neither did Leandro and Laurel. They wanted to leave the decision-making power regarding this matter to Eloise, fully respecting her choice.

Eloise turned back to look at Zackery, who smiled indulgently and said, “Go ahead, Elle. I’ll be here waiting for you to come back.”

Eloise’s heart, which had been held up, instantly dropped. She walked step by step to Leon with her skirt in hand, without a hint of expression.

Leon saw Eloise walking towards him and was overjoyed. He rushed up to her and opened his hands, showing her the two rings in his palms.

Because he was exerting too much force, the edge of the ring had already cut his palm.

In the past, Eloise used to get extremely anxious when she saw a small wound on him, but now Eloise remains ex- pressionless.

Panic spread throughout his body, and he felt like something very important had disappeared from his life. Leon’s voice trembled, “Elle, this is the ring I made with my own hands. I lost the one you originally gave me, and I want to make it up with this.”

Eloise looked at the man she had loved for many years and realized that he was just like that.

She said lightly, “Since it’s lost, it means there’s no fate, so why force it.” This sentence was like a sharp blade pierc- ing through Leon’s heart, instantly draining all color from his face.

Leon stubbornly spread out his hands, “I’ve been working on this ring for a long time, I’ve smashed myself several times, it hurts a lot.” This was the first time Leon had played the victim in front of Eloise, all he wanted was for Eloise to take another look at the ring.

Upon hearing this, Eloise followed his gaze and picked up the pair of rings in Leon’s expectant eyes, then threw them away. The rings rolled in the air and then fell to the ground, disappearing without a trace.

Today there were many guests and the decorations were also very messy, so it’s almost certain that it won’t be found after being thrown like this.

So Eloise wanted to tell Leon in this way that they were no longer possible.

Leon stood still, looking at his empty palms, the sharp pain in his chest as if to tear him apart. His fingers gradually curled up before slowly dropping down.

He gazed at Eloise persistently, “If I find the ring, will you forgive me?”
