After I was 39 weeks pregnant, Renee Vernon, the secret lover he was keeping, offended a major client at the celebration banquet. In order to retain the order, my husband Lukas Ward asked me to kneel down and apologize on her behalf.
I said incredulously, “I am pregnant, how can I kneel down? What if it hurts the baby…”
Lukas rudely interrupted me.
“Can’t you just kneel down? I’ve never seen you so delicate before.”
He forcibly dragged me in front of the client and pressed my head down to kneel.

At that moment, my phone screen popped up a push notification, it was a video of Lukas celebrating Renee’s birthday.
Lukas held Renee’s hand from behind to cut the cake.
Renee was wearing a turtleneck dress, but there were faint kiss marks on her exposed skin.

She angrily handed the child over to the nurse before dialing Lukas’s phone.

On the other end of the phone, Lukas’s tone was sarcastic and filled with anger.
“Julianna, I remember you didn’t like watching the news, it was Kenley who complained to you, right.”
“Let her answer the phone, I will talk to her!”
I answered the phone.
I heard the woman’s whimpering sound.
Julianna was so angry that her eyes became moist.
“Kenley, you can leave after a week once your body has recovered.”
