Chapter 4
I don’t know how long it had been, but Patrick and David’s argument woke me up.
I just realized that I had returned to the hospital.
When he saw that I woke up, Patrick seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
He looked at David with a displeased expression on his face.
“This is the good wife you picked for me, going on a date with another man during the postpartum
recovery period.”
David was so angry that he was trembling all over.
“What date? Do you know what Gracie did yesterday…”
“David.”
I interrupted David’s words.
“It’s all in the past.”
David understood what I meant and said no more.
He looked at Patrick with a face full of resentment.
Patrick waved his hand indifferently.
“Everyone woke up, and there was nothing for me to do here anymore. Jessica is still waiting for me
over there, so I’ll leave first.”
David swung his cane and said, “Beast.”
“I don’t care where you go today, but you must come to the mansion with Gracie tomorrow…”
The words were not finished yet, and Patrick’s figure had already disappeared at the door.
David let out a long sigh, and his back became even more hunched.
He handed me the divorce agreement that had already been signed.
“Gracie, it was my fault for not properly educating the younger generation.”
“But that child is also your own flesh and blood, I hope you can accompany him on his final
journey.”

I looked at the old man with completely white hair, and in the end, I couldn’t bear to refuse.
The next morning, I arrived at the Harper’s mansion dressed in black.
This child, I gave birth to with my life.
Unfortunately, there was no time to hug him before he was already separated from this world.
I gently wiped away the tears at the corner of my eyes.
That’s fine too.
To avoid having worries, one is reluctant to lea
I had already done my best in this marriage.
This departure was only accompanied by exhaustion, without any regrets.
Patrick did not show up until the child was buried.
I did see the photos of him and Jessica trying on wedding dresses on the trending topic.
Jessica proudly sent me a message.
“So what if she had a baby, Patrick still chose me in the end.”
“By the way, did you think that Patrick was taking care of you while you were unconscious? Actually, he was with me the whole time. We were on the bed next to yours, exploring many new
positions.”
In the video, I had a pale face.
Jessica, with her radiant face, stood in stark contrast.
I did not reply and silently forwarded all the messages and videos to David.
Afterwards, I took off the wedding ring from
my
hand.
Holding the ashes of my mother, I whispered softly, “Mom, we are going home.”

It was not until nightfall that Patrick returned to the Harper’s mansion, reeking of alcohol.
As soon as I pushed open the door, I was startled by the sight of numerous wreaths.
“Who died? Was it Gracie’s mother?”

He was terrified and looked flustered.
“Why didn’t you tell me such a big thing earlier? Where is Gracie? She must be very sad now. I want to go and accompany her.”
David, who could no longer bear it, tore up the divorce agreement.
It smashed onto Patrick’s face.
“Gracie has already left with her mother’s ashes.”
“Today was the funeral of your son!”
