Chapter 3
The air fell silent for a moment.
“Snap!”
What awaited me was not redemption, but another slap from Raelynn.
“You were Mr. Galvan’s wife, so who am I?”
“Moreover, I have been with Mr. Galvan for 5 years and have known him for 10 years, and I have never heard of him getting married.”
“You bitch, dare to deceive me?”
I spat out a mouthful of blood and struggled to open my mouth to explain, “We grew up together, and I really am his wife.”
Upon hearing Desmond’s name, the other secretaries became somewhat concerned and wanted to
prevent Raelynn.
Raelynn waved her hand nonchalantly, “Don’t worry, I am the one who knows Mr. Galvan the best.”
She looked me up and down with disdain.
My broken skirt was thrown aside like a rag. I didn’t have any jewelry on me, not even a designer
-handbag.
The one who carried the lunchbox was just a common cloth bag.
Raelynn sneered, “And look at this poor woman in front of us, not a single designer brand on her, how could she possibly be Mrs. Galvan?”
I finally managed to catch my breath, but I felt a warmth in my lower body.
A bad premonition rose in the bottom of my heart. “Blood, she was bleeding!”
The secretary stepped back in a state of panic.
My heart raced, and I became flustered.
Weakly raising my hand, I wanted to grab onto something, but all I felt was a surge of blood flowing
out from beneath me.
Raelynn glanced lightly and scolded her, “What’s the big deal about calling? Isn’t it just a little blood? What are you afraid of?”
“Moreover, she was just a mistress, carrying an illegitimate child.”

“It was only natural for the bastard to be beaten.” The crowd fell silent, no longer daring to speak up for me.
I covered my stomach and almost pleaded, “Please, please help me call an ambulance.”
“My child, child…”
No one came forward to help me, everyone remained indifferent and with a hidden sense of
pleasure, waiting for me to have a miscarriage.
Raelynn just stared at me silently for at least 10 minutes, and I felt like my blood was about to run
dry.
She picked up the phone and dialed a number.
I thought she would help me call an ambulance, but I didn’t expect to hear Desmond’s voice.
“What happened?”
The man opposite spoke concisely, and his voice revealed no emotions.
“Mr. Galvan, today another woman came to the company, wanting to bring you lunch.”
When Raelynn faced Desmond, she was completely different from when she arrogantly beat me. She was gentle and soft, her voice almost as soothing as water. Desmond was a little impatient and said, “Why are you asking me about such trivial matters? What is the purpose of having you as a secretary?”
“You handle it yourself.”
He hung up the phone without any mercy after speaking.
Raelynn raised an eyebrow and looked smugly at everyone, “Did you hear that? Mr. Galvan asked
me to handle it.”
I opened my mouth to call for help, but I was already too weak to make any sound.
Raelynn walked towards me step by step, wearing high heels. The high heels pressed on my face, constantly crushing. “With your current blood volume, even taking a photo would be judged as gory violence by the platform.”
“Count yourself lucky, you narrowly escaped a disaster.”
“But now, it’s your turn.”
“Without this face, I wonder how you could still seduce Mr. Galvan.”
She said as she took out an art knife from the cabinet and gestured it on my face.

At the moment of despair, Raelynn’s phone rang. It was Desmond.
Raelynn answered the phone.
“I need the documents from the previous Mudfort project, prepare them for me immediately.”
“Okay, Mr. Galvan.”
“I probably had about 10 minutes left to reach the company…”
