Chapter 17
Marcus broke into Mandy’s villa, his eyes filled with determination.
The moonlight flowed down along his messy hair, forming a sharp arc at his collarbone.
Mandy ran barefoot down the spiral staircase, her silk nightgown billowing in the draft.
Seeing Marcus, she hurried forward, her fingertips barely brushing against the man’s Adam’s apple as she carefully outlined the tear- streaked makeup beneath a pitiful expression.
“Marcus, I just wanted to marry you so much…”
Tears welled up in Mandy’s eyes and fell onto her open chest.
Marcus’s hand, which was pulling at his tie, revealed bulging veins as he cast a cold, piercing gaze at the delicate tear stains on her face.
He lifted his foot and crushed the forged pregnancy test on the floor, the tip of his handmade leather shoe grinding the words “eight weeks pregnant” into pieces.
Marcus’s icy fingers pinched Mandy’s chin, his thumb stained with crimson lipstick. “Do I need to read out the modified transfer records from the medical database for you?”
Mandy’s pearl earring dangled in a struggle and suddenly fell off. She laughed maniacally as she reached for her wristwatch.
“It was you who personally brought me into the Daston family, and it

was you who promised me the ‘gift‘ with your own mouth… Blood transfusions, pouring wine, which one of these things was not done through your hands, Mr. Daston?”
Her fingertips, painted with bright red nail polish, touched the tip of Marcus’s eyebrows. “If it weren’t for that bitch Alicia…”
“Bang!”
The glass vase at the entrance suddenly flew out, smashing at Mandy’s feet, scaring her to fall among the shattered pieces.
Marcus slowly loosened his tie, a shadow creeping up his browline as he said, “I forgot to tell you, the private hospital owned by the Denholm Group was sealed off yesterday.”
He leaned in close to Mandy’s pale earlobe, bent down to pick up the blood–stained pregnancy test, the sound of paper tearing mixed with a cold chuckle from his throat.
Guess what, when I personally delivered the arson video to the police station, the Denholm Group’s stocks plummeted several limit down. Can you still protect yourselves, the Denholm family?
The game should have ended.
The antique clock at the entrance suddenly chimed, and Marcus crushed the paper scraps underfoot with the last chime.
Don’t worry, I will slowly destroy you…
He glanced back with a devilish smile in his shadow, “I will bring you tulips for Ally.”
At the moment he turned around, the moonlight flooded into the hall, illuminating the pale face of Mandy behind him.

The torrential rain was washing the ornate iron gate of the Daston’s manor, while outside three black cars were emitting a cold light in the
storm.
Mandy’s mother, Ansley Denholm, clenched her fingers around the jade rosary beads, her knuckles turning white, while Mandy’s father, Jaxson Denholm, had a grim expression on his face.
“The Daston family’s son was so arrogant that he actually shut out his elders.”
After a while, a black figure walked out from the slowly opened ornate iron gate.
Marcus held a black umbrella with an iron frame, his face clouded with a lingering gloom.
Ansley busily opened the car door, while the bodyguard standing beside her held up an umbrella for her.
“Marcus, all of this is just Mandy messing around… Ansley said as she grabbed onto Marcus’s sleeve, but he pushed her to the ground.”
“Marcus!” Jaxson slowly got out of the car and said coldly, “We have already given you a great deal of face by coming to apologize in person. If it weren’t for the sake of the Daston family…”
Marcus glanced coldly at Jaxson, “She hurt the most important person to me!”
“However,” a cold smile crept onto Jaxson’s lips, “Mandy told us that you were aware of all this.”
Marcus’s hand clenched into a fist at his side, with bulging veins visible.

“It was as if it was a mistake committed by you and Mandy together.”
Jaxson saw Marcus’s expression change slightly and walked up to him.
“You and Mandy were both young, impulsive, which was both a bad thing and a good thing.”
Marcus suddenly swung his fist towards the car body behind Jaxson, the startled punch wind brushing past Jaxson’s cheek.
The steel body of the car was slightly dented with a small pit.
Even so, I will not let Mandy go…
The lightning split the rain curtain, illuminating the full hatred on Marcus’s face, startling Jaxson to step back.
You tell Mandy, I will personally destroy her, as well as the Denholm Group!
