Chapter 1
A new social craze was sweeping through the elite:
The Wife–Swapping Game.
And the man who used to break bones of anyone for touching her hand?
He signed her away like property.
On the first day of the game, Marcus Daston brought Mandy Denholm back.
The bedroom door was half open.
The moans were loud. Shameless.
Alicia sat alone in the living room, knees hugged to her chest, listening to her husband please another woman–under their roof.
By noon the next day, Marcus finally emerged, shirtless and smug.
He looked her in the eye.
She still had tears on her cheeks.
He smiled. Smiled.
“The game’s started,” he said lazily. “Why aren’t you at the Kecith residence yet?”
Right then, Mandy strutted out in his shirt, hickeys blooming across

her collarbones.
“My husband’s basically a saint,” she cooed. “He hasn’t touched me once since we got married. One whole year and I’m still a virgin!”
She flipped her hair and threw Alicia a mocking glance.
“Honestly, Ms. Walsh, he doesn’t even let women stand within ten feet of him. You might as well stay here. If he kicks you out, that’d just be… humiliating.”
Marcus laughed and wrapped his arm around Mandy’s waist.
“If that’s what you want, sweetheart, then she’ll stay.”
Mandy’s eyes lit up with a flash of triumph as she grabbed his hand and pouted.
“Marcus, didn’t you say you were gonna come with me to the auction yesterday to pick out a ring? Let’s bring Ms. Walsh too. Otherwise, I’ll be bored out of my mind sitting there all alone.
She made up an excuse, and Marcus readily agreed. Mandy dragged Alicia out the door, despite her reluctance.
“Marcus, because you’ve been so kind to me, I have a surprise for you.”
While speaking, Mandy leaned in, whispered something in his ear, and then gazed at him with anticipation.
“Do you like this surprise?”
Marcus looked back with a serious expression. “I do.”
“Great, I’m happy you enjoy it.”

Lifting her gaze, Alicia noticed the sports car parked in the courtyard. Her eyelids fluttered uncontrollably, and her heart raced with anxiety.
Mandy grabbed the car keys and tossed them nonchalantly to her. “Ms. Walsh, Marcus, and I were up all night. How about you drive?”
Alicia’s eyelashes quivered as she unconsciously tightened her grip. She opened the car door and got in.
As soon as she secured her seatbelt, she heard Mandy say, “Ms. Walsh, I just remembered. You were involved in a car accident years ago, weren’t you?
“How about this, take it for a test drive first. I need to see if you’re driving has gotten any better. I can’t accompany you otherwise.”
Upon hearing this, Alicia’s eyes narrowed, and she instinctively turned to Marcus. Just like she expected, his look was cold, clearly full of
resentment.
She bit her lip until it bled, but still managed to hold back the years of pain that had been eating away at her.
Once she regained her composure, Alicia started the car and drove around the courtyard.
Upon returning to her starting point and attempting to park, she discovered that the brakes were not working.
For a brief moment, her mind went completely blank. It was then that she grasped the true meaning of the “surprise” they had hinted at.
She couldn’t stop the car, so all she could do was watch in disbelief as the sports car swerved crazily toward the iron gate.
With an earsplitting noise, the front of the car crumpled and burst
apart.
Her whole body crashed into the airbag as glass fragments scattered and blood splattered.
It was like her insides were getting squished, and the pain rolled through her like a huge wave.
Her ears buzzed continuously, and her vision slowly faded into a haze.
