Chapter 25
Anna never expected him to actually stand in the snow all night.
The snow got heavier after midnight, and Anna kept looking out the window. Genesis glanced out too
Seeing that familiar face at the window–lips cracked from the cold–Isaiah still managed to force out a smile.
“Coach Gen. Isn’t this gonna kill him?
Genesis casually pulled up her blanket and closed her eyes, saying indifferently: “Nah, and even if it does, it’s not our problem. Go to sleep.“[
Anna admired Genesis’s resolve, but thinking about all the trauma Genesis had endured, she vented her anger by yanking the curtains shut
with force
Standing in the snow all night, Isaiah’s mind kept replaying their past.[]
They’d had such good times together–decorating their house, dreaming about the future
But Sadie had destroyed it all]
Thinking of Sadie made anger flare in his body.]
Toward the end, he felt burning hot, like he was standing under a blazing sun
He knew he was hallucinating from the cold. He kept telling himself to hold on–if he could just hold on, Genesis would change her mind []
But another voice in his head whispered that Genesis would never change her mind. She loved someone else now.
The thought that Genesis didn’t love him anymore felt like knives twisting in his heart. He desperately tried to think of something he could do for her, and finally an idea came to him
“A race? How can you race with snow this thick? Besides, you’re practically a frozen popsicle–do you even have the strength to drive?”
The idea Isaiah had was racing
Genesis loved racing more than anything. If he could beat Nolan in a race, maybe Genesh would give him a chance.]]
Isaiah looked at Genesis with determination, his whole body shaking uncontrollably.
“Let me race Nolan. If I win, will you give me one chance?”
Genesis coldly replied: “No.“]
Isaiah gave a bitter smile: “Even if you won’t, I still want to race. Gen, will you be my navigator? Consider it my last gift.“]
Π
Genesis was getting pissed because Isaiah was insisting on racing against Nolan–he couldn’t even drive a race car.
But Notan decisively agreed.]
Genesis looked at him like he was crazy: “Don’t push yourself if you can’t do it. This won’t change anything, and I’m not responsible if you get hurt
But Nolan unusually, wasn’t wearing his stern expression. Instead, he gently patted her head
“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. Just be his navigator and put him out of his misery.” Then he turned to Isaiah: “Let’s do this.”
When they hit the road, Genesis was already sweating for Nolan.]
Isaiah really lived up to his reputation as a dark horse–his racing skills were solid
“Left turn approaching straightaway.”
They were halfway through, and Genesis was surprised that Nolan was only two or three meters behind.
Seeing that relentless car in his rearview mirror made sweat break out on Isaiah’s forehead
He floored the gas pedal, desperate to shake him off, but it was no use.
The finish line was approaching, and the two cars kept getting closer.
Isaiah’s eyes were bloodshot from straining. When Nolan tried to overtake again, Isaiah sideswiped his car.
Genesis immediately frowned: “Isaigh, follow the damn rules!”
But watching the distance close, he completely lost his cool. Right before the finish line, he forced Nolan’s car off the track||
His own car instantly spun out of control and flipped outside the course
Genesis’s pupils dilated. The moment they hit the ground, she didn’t even check her own injuries before frantically unbuckling her seatbelt and running outside.
“Nolan!”
Isaiah’s head had hit the steering wheel. Hearing her cry out, his heart shattered completely.
Watching her run away, he thought–so this was how she’d felt watching him save Sadie that day |
“Ger, I’m letting you go.”
The moment Genesis ran outside, someone caught her in a tight embrace.
Realizing who it was, tears instantly streamed down her face as she pounded on his hack with her fists.
“I told you not to race if you couldn’t handle it! Thank God nothing happened to you,
Nolan was thrilled to be hit by her. He glanced at the car behind her and leaned close to her ear!
“Your gentle man is bleeding back there. Aren’t you going to check on him?”
Only then did Genesis remember Isaiah, She glanced back, saw the paramedics heading over, then looked away and took Nolan’s hand
“Not interested. I don’t like gentle guys anymore.”
Nolan let her lead him forward, wearing a fond smile.
“So what kind of guy do you like? Rough ones? Bad tempered? Tattooed chain–smokers? Couldn’t be someone like me, right?”
Genesis got inexplicably annoyed at his teasing, dropped his hand, and stomped ahead with her head down.
Nolan immediately knew he’d gone too far and caught up to put his arm around her shoulders.
“Okay, okay, I shouldn’t have said that, sorry, Your Highness- Want to go get our marriage license this afternoon?”
Isaiah lay on the stretcher, watching them disappear into the distance.

The legendary racing dark horse fell from grace in his third year and vanished without a trace. Those waiting to see his true face were all disappointed
Only a few people were happy–because that rare medical genius, Dr. Merrick, had returned.]
Except now he didn’t smile as much, and he wore two rings on his hand, claiming they were to honor his late wife.
