Chapter 5
Three months later.
The police investigation revealed that Serafina had a stash of AI- generated face–swapped videos on both her phone and computer.
Among them, many featured wealthy heirs.
These videos included scenes of kissing, hugging, and other intimate behavior.
They also uncovered explicit adult content stored on her device.
Even more disturbing, she had used face–swapping tech to create fake pornographic clips, replacing real people’s faces with those of adult film actresses–and had even been making money off them.
My parents, of course, did not believe any of it.
“There must be some mistake! Our daughter is a good girl–she’d never do something illegal.”
“Officer, are you sure? Couldn’t there be a misunderstanding?”
However, the police handed them the official verdict: ten years in prison.
They stared at the paper in total disbelief.
And then Serafina showed up, somehow with a visible baby bump.
“Officer! I’m pregnant. Look, there’s really a baby in here. It’s kicking!”

She suddenly pointed at Enzo and said, “I want to sue Enzo, CEO of the Gallo Group. He got drunk and forced himself on me!”
I did not even have to think to know that it was fake. Enzo would never do something like that.
However, what really shocked me was her belly. It had gotten bigger.
She looked thinner overall, but that bump was definitely there.
She looked like she was four months along.
Still, it all felt off. It was too fast.
I could not help saying, “Wow, Sera, you got pregnant at lightning speed.”
However, Serafina was not embarrassed at all. On the contrary, she even puffed out her belly like she was proud of it.
“It’s all your fault, Alessia. I ended up like this because of you. But don’t think you’ve won. Enzo’s still a scumbag.”
I rolled my eyes, not even bothering to argue. I stepped closer.
“You say you’re pregnant, but do you have any medical proof?”
“What proof do I need? Look at my belly. If I’m not pregnant, what do you think this is?”
I turned to the police and said calmly, “Officer, my sister’s been under a lot of stress lately. She’s not thinking clearly. Please take her in-—sorry for the trouble.”
Just as they were about to restrain her, Serafina freaked out and pulled out her “evidence“-a single pregnancy test stick.

“I haven’t had time to go to the hospital yet, but this says I’m pregnant!”
So, no real proof. Just another made–up lie.
I had no idea what Serafina did, but the police asked some questions and found a few things that actually seemed to match what she said.
So they had to start an investigation.
Enzo was taken to the police station.
I looked at him and said, “I trust you, no matter what.”
I would never doubt Enzo again, like I did in my past life.
Actually, I was right this time.
Serafina was taken to the hospital and sent to the OB–GYN department.
However, after the doctor checked her, he noticed something strange and told her to go see an oncologist.
Serafina cried, “Doctor, can you check on the baby again? I want to know if the baby’s okay.
“I’m not going to the Oncology Department. I won’t go.”
However, it was not up to her.
The test results came out fast.
There was no baby. It was a tumor in her belly.
The doctor studied the ultrasound and frowned. “Why did you wait so long to come in? This tumor needs to be removed right away, or your life is at risk.”

Serafina started crying even harder. “No way! This must be a mistake–I can’t do anything that might hurt my baby!
“I’m not doing surgery! The baby is my husband’s. You’re just trying to hurt my baby. All of you are working together to hurt me.
“There must be something wrong with your machines. How could a healthy baby suddenly become a tumor? What kind of game are you trying to play?
“Was this Alessia’s idea? I always treated her like a real sister. Why would she do this to me?”
She cried so much in the hospital that she could barely breathe. She kept insisting the tumor was her baby.
However, the doctor could not force her to have surgery, and even the police could not do anything about it.
If she wanted to believe that, we had to let her.
Outside the hospital, Serafina touched her belly and said, “Don’t worry, baby. Mommy won’t let anyone hurt you.”
She sounded serious–like she really thought there was a baby.
And when I saw that, I felt a cold chill in my heart.
Serafina must have really lost her mind.
