Chapter 11
Time went back seven days.
In the study, Graham put down the files, picked up his phone, the lock screen lit up, and stopped on Melody’s chat window.
The last message was sent four hours ago.
“Melody, I went to see you tonight, and also went with you to visit your mom and paid the medical bills.”
Graham’s eyes looked dark.
Olive was seriously ill, but she patiently stayed with the unconscious Olive, talked to her, read to her, and often stayed for a whole day.
Graham was busy and didn’t go often. Every time he made time to go, Melody was always really happy.
But this time, she didn’t say a single word back.
His heart suddenly beat really fast, and panic wrapped around him like
vines.
Graham suddenly got up and wanted to go to the hospital, but as soon as he walked out the door, he ran into Elaine.
“Graham, it was my birthday today. Mom said we’d go out to celebrate tonight. Melody was still at home resting for her pregnancy, so she wasn’t allowed to come.”
“Time’s about right now, let’s go to the hotel.”

Chapter 11
Graham paused for a second. He had checked his phone
times,
waited four hours for Melody to reply, but not once did he remember that today was Elaine’s birthday.
This was also the first time he forgot this date.
“What’s wrong?” Elaine asked with a puzzled look. “Or did you have other plans tonight?”
Seeing the disappointment all over her face, Graham immediately denied it: “No.”
Since Melody had already kept the liver donation a secret, she just kept it all the way, especially today–she couldn’t ruin Elaine’s mood.
“Let’s go.”
The hotel was here.
Graham accidentally saw Melody’s adoptive father Tyler. Doris thoughtfully changed Tyler’s warm water and asked about how he was recovering.
His heart clenched, the Rosmere family all had big smiles on their faces, like Melody being abused for 18 years just didn’t exist.
He instinctively took out his phone and sent a message to Melody.
“I had something urgent today, so I’ll come keep you company tomorrow.“.
It was like a stone sinking into the sea, no response.
“Elaine, happy birthday, this is a blessing charm mom prepared for I’ll put it on you, don’t ever take it off.” Doris’s voice came.
you,
Elaine smiled sweetly, “Thanks, Mom. Is Melody’s birthday present this too?”

Chapter 11
“She had everything, didn’t need me to get anything. But you, stop always worrying about others, think more about yourself.”
Graham felt like a tiny needle pricked his chest.
Did Melody have everything?
But on her birthday, Darian and Doris didn’t even say happy birthday to her. All she got from them was a slap.
And he made public the video of her being bullied.
“Elaine, the sleep tea you made for Dad is gone, make some more,” Doris said.
Elaine pressed her lips together and looked at Graham, stammering.
Graham suddenly felt short of breath. Usually, as soon as Elaine gave him that look, he would agree for her, then have Melody get things ready and send them to the Rosmere family in Elaine’s name.
He always thought this would make the Rosmere family treat Elaine well.
The result was just what she wanted, but..
What about the Melody who most deserved to be treated well?
“You got it wrong, the sleep tea was blended by Melody.”
Graham looked at Doris, “And the qipao you’re wearing, Melody made it
by hand. It took her a month.”
The room suddenly went quiet.
Elaine’s eyes turned red, “Graham?”
Graham felt like he saw Melody in the hospital room, her eyes red too.

“You all said I took everything from Elaine, but I never understood what I took from her.”
“Graham, what did I do wrong? How could you guys treat me like this?”
He felt tightness in his chest, and there was a kind of pain he couldn’t really describe.
“Did I say something wrong?”
Elaine was speechless, and Graham just got up and walked out.
“I had something to do, excuse me.
On the way to the hospital, Graham dialed Melody’s number.
No one answered.
The second call.
His thin lips pressed together. When the fifth call hung up automatically, the hospital call came in.
“Mr. Dorrick, Ms. Melody was gone.”
Graham’s heart skipped a beat, and for the first time, these words felt strange to him.
What do you mean, she disappeared?
