Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Peter gently stroked Kim’s phone: “I’m sorry!”
From beginning to end, the only one he loved in his heart was Kim.
After Kim left, he stayed at the bar every single day, getting wasted, just hoping to forget that faithless woman.
But the more he drank, the clearer Kim’s image became in his mind.
Diana brought Samantha to him, trying to pull him out of his slump.
“Peter, the best way to get over someone is to start a new relationship. Give me a chance.”
He didn’t want to lie to himself or lead Samantha on, so he turned her down flat.
“I don’t want to hold you back. Find someone who actually loves you!”
But after that, she followed him around like a lost puppy, wherever he went.
Every time he got blackout drunk, she’d quietly take care of him without a single complaint.
Two or three months passed like this. Peter got drunk again, and Samantha took him to a hotel.
When he woke up, she was lying beside him in Kim’s pajamas, a red stain on the sheets.
At first, he wanted to bolt-he felt he’d betrayed both Kim and Samantha.
“Samantha, what were you thinking?”
But she just sat on the edge of the bed, crying.
“I did this willingly. I love you too much. Sometimes forced things work out. Please let me be your girlfriend.”
What’s done was done. No point talking about it.
Peter looked at her tear-streaked face and finally caved.
“I’ll try to love you.”
After that, the Wrights and Jacksons arranged a marriage alliance.
Peter officially started this new relationship, doing everything a boyfriend should for Samantha.
But all this peace shattered the day he saw Kim again.
Even after three years, he still hadn’t forgotten her.

Chapter 10
Dawn was breaking. Samantha watched Peter’s expression, her heart sinking to the pit of her stomach.
“These past two years… did you ever love me at all?
Even just a little?”
Peter looked up at her and repeated those words: “I’m sorry.”
Samantha clenched her fists. “Then what about all your kindness these three years?
Your constant care?”
Remembering their sweet moments made her whole body tremble.

She thought after two years, he’d at least have some feelings for her. She never imagined he still couldn’t love her.
Peter lowered his gaze to Kim’s tombstone, his voice rough.
“Samantha, we… should break up.”
He’d spent two years trying to move on.
But seeing Kim again made him realize he’d never let go.
He couldn’t keep lying to himself.
“I won’t accept this!”
Samantha raised her voice. “You promised to take responsibility and treat me right! What does breaking up now even
mean?”
Samantha had fallen for Peter back in college, but he had a girlfriend he cherished, so she kept her distance.
Later, she heard they’d broken up and Peter was drowning his sorrows in alcohol.
She pulled every string to get close to him-even got her dad to do business with the Jacksons just for more chances to see him.
Peter had put in so much effort to become her boyfriend that she even wore his ex’s pajamas.
Finally, she ended up with Peter just as she’d imagined.
Yet two years later, it turned out everything had been a pipe dream?
“Samantha, I don’t want to hold you back. Breaking up is what’s best for you.”
As Peter finished speaking, Samantha suddenly clutched her stomach.
“I’m pregnant!”
