Shifted Fate: My Mate and Sister’s Betrayal 5

Chapter 5

When Tessa arrived, they merely glanced at her

Their bodies remained turned toward Chloe as they chatted, paying her no mind

They couldn’t help but critique Tessa

Tessa, if only you were as lively and cute as Chloe.”

I really wish we had a daughter like Chloe, we need a perfect Luna like her.”

It wasn’t the first time they’d said such things, and Tessa was becoming numb to it

But she had always been distant, unable to show any other side of herself to these people

Chloe smiled cheerfully and responded

Don’t worry, you can treat me like your own daughter.”

Even though Tessa isn’t very likable, I’ll still help her win your favor and continue to take care of the pack.”

Her words flowed effortlessly, and in no time, Rig and Olivia were laughing along with her

Ryan, sitting nearby, grinned too

His gaze on Chloe was one of pure admiration, as if she were his masterpiece, his trophy. He looked at her with pride

He was the second son of the Silver Moon pack. Growing up in his older brother’s shadow, he had always been overshadowed by the idea that his brother was perfectthe future Alpha the pack had been waiting for. Everyone anticipated that once his brother found his mate, they’d take care of the pack together

But when Ryan met his mate, she died, and his wolf grew weak, dragging him into despair. He spent his days drowning his sorrows in bars

Then he met Tessathe socalled perfect Luna, his destined mate. The pack had new hope, and Ryan was able to step out of his brother’s shadow. He couldn’t give up on Tessa

He gently touched Chloe’s thigh, and they exchanged a glance, smiling at each other

She understood him, so he loved her

Tessa watched them silently, her thoughts distant

She just wanted to leave. Maybe no one could understand her feelings, but she hated these kinds of

situations

Tessa, why don’t Alpha and Luna like us?”

Clara, it’s not our fault. Don’t be sad.”

We’ll be fine once we leave the pack.”

In the past, Ryan had always found excuses to take her away, never caring what others said

But now, she looked at the man before her, doing nothing

Had he been hiding too well, or had Tessa only realized too late

When it was time to leave, it started to rain

Chloe, dressed in a beautiful dress and wearing high heels, didn’t even call for Ryan. He picked her up on his own

With one hand holding the umbrella and the other around Chloe, she nestled into his embrace like a kitten

Ryan didn’t mind that his shoulders were getting soaked; he didn’t want a single drop of rain touching Chloe

He even forgot that Tessa was still behind him, his future Luna

Tessa coldly watched their backs as they walked toward the car, remembering the time when Ryan had carried her in his arms the same way

She didn’t have time to dwell on it, rushing out into the rain and back into the car

Only after settling Chloe into the car did Ryan finally step out, his gaze freezing when he saw Tessa drenched in rain

He paused, then quickly explained

Chloe’s always been delicate. If she gets wet, she’ll get sick. I just took her to the car first. You’re not upset, right?”

“Babe, why didn’t you wait for me to get you?”

Realizing his mistake, Ryan immediately apologized

Tessa responded softly

It’s fine.”

Ryan knew that Tessa wasn’t one to hold grudges. If she said it was fine, he felt it was no big deal

But in Tessa’s heart, Ryan had long since rotted away

On the way back, Tessa didn’t say a word

It felt as though they were strangers to each other

If she could, Tessa would have preferred never having met him

Tessa went back to the Bloodmoon pack, cleared out all of her belongings, except for one diary

That diary contained all the memories of her childhood

She thought of it as her final gift to Alpha Liam and Luna Audrey. No one knew why she was packing up, nor did anyone care

When Audrey saw her leaving the pack house with her suitcase, she simply coldly asked

What’s going on? Are you really leaving the pack for good?”

You better pray you don’t get into any trouble with another pack. We won’t help you.”

Maybe from the moment they found out Tessa wasn’t their biological daughter, they stopped seeing her as a member of the pack

They couldn’t wait to send her to another pack

Tessa didn’t answer. She simply glanced back at Luna Audrey, who had raised her for twenty years

Did she have no feelings at all

She looked at Audrey and slowly whispered,

Goodbye.”
