Chapter 23
Tessa coldly fixed her gaze on them, her smile and happiness disappearing in an instant.
“What do you want from me?”
She glanced at the two of them, her eyes as distant as if they were strangers.
Ryan froze the moment he met her gaze.
In the time she’d been gone, she seemed to have become even more beautiful.
He stayed silent for a long while before finally murmuring, “I’m sorry.”
But Tessa didn’t want to hear those words.
All she wanted was peace and tranquility in her life.
Nothing more.
His apology felt like he was reopening old wounds, forcing her to forgive him all over again.
Her eyes remained cold as she looked at him.
“You don’t have to apologize. I don’t want to hear it.”
Ryan knew she wouldn’t forgive him, but he still stepped forward, grabbing her hand.
He foolishly thought, just like before, that a few sweet words could smooth things over with Tessa.
“Please come back… I really miss you.”
“I’ve been looking for you for so long…”
“And Chloe and I, we’ve-”
Tessa couldn’t care less about his situation. Annoyed, she yanked her hand away from his grasp.
“Can you stop? What does any of this have to do with me?”
This was the first time Ryan had ever seen Tessa like this–impatient and cold.
It pierced his heart once again.
With reddened eyes, he stared at her, almost desperate to hear some comforting words from her. But it was hopeless.
Tessa sat at the table, fully aware that if she didn’t make herself clear now, they wouldn’t leave.

They would follow her to the ends of the earth if they had to.
“Do you really want me to go back with you? What are you thinking? After everything you did, do you still expect me to come back to you? To forgive you and be your mate again?”
Ryan’s face flushed with anger.
“It’s my fault. I’ll change. Please come back with me. I’ll be better for you than before.”
Tessa’s patience finally snapped. She shot him a scathing look.
“Don’t you get it? I don’t have feelings for you anymore. And I’m not going back with you.”
Ryan knew what she meant; he just couldn’t accept it.
Tessa had been so kind to him before, and now she was saying she didn’t love him, just like that?
How could she?
He didn’t understand, and he refused to believe it.
He pointed at the man sitting next to Tessa.
“Is it because of him?”
Tessa found him utterly ridiculous. What right did he have to blame someone else?
“Who cheated first? I’ve already rejected you. We’re not mates anymore.”
Ryan wouldn’t listen. Instead, he rushed forward, ready to confront Aaron.
Tessa immediately stepped in front of Aaron, and Ryan let out a bitter laugh.
“So you’d rather be with him than come back to me, huh?”
Tessa remained calm, her voice steady. “Why should I go back with you?”
“What does he have that I don’t?” Ryan continued, his frustration mounting.
“I’m the Alpha of the pack. He’s just a loser who took advantage of the situation!” “What did you say?”
A warrior standing behind Aaron moved forward, radiating an aura of power.
Ryan instinctively took a step back.
Audrey, also feeling the tension, quickly moved behind Ryan, her fear evident.
