Chapter 10
Ryan sped down the road, his thoughts consumed by Tessa.
As the red light ahead turned on, without hesitation, he floored the accelerator and sped through.
He ran through several red lights, sweat pouring from his palms.
He had never felt so concerned about Tessa before.
For a moment, fear gripped him–the fear that Tessa might leave him.
The drive from the mating ceremony to his house was usually a fifty–minute journey, but today, he managed to make it back in just over thirty minutes.
He rushed inside the house and immediately ran to the bedroom. Upon entering, he froze, staring at the empty room in disbelief.
The sight was almost too much to comprehend–it was as if no one had ever lived there.
Only his belongings remained, and he called out throughout the entire house.
But no response came.
Standing in the living room, his breath came in short gasps, his heartbeat thundering in his ears.
He turned to the maid standing nearby and shouted,
“Where’s Tessa? Where did she go?”
The maid flinched, terrified by his tone and afraid to speak.
“Luna Tessa… didn’t she leave yesterday?”
The maid assumed Tessa had gone to move her things to the Slivermoon pack and didn’t dare ask any more questions.
Ryan clenched his fists, smashing a nearby vase in his fury.
“Find her! Get the entire pack to search for her!”
“Bring Luna Tessa back!”
The servants had never seen Ryan so angry since he and Tessa had mate to each other.
Ryan felt his body shake, his strength draining away. He slumped onto the couch, overwhelmed.
“I told you, you can’t betray our mate,”

his wolf’s voice sneered coldly.
“Shut up.
Suddenly, Ryan’s throat tightened, his emotions choking him.
Today was supposed to be their mating ceremony.
He stared down at his phone, the wallpaper showing Tessa’s smiling face.
He sat there, lost in thought, trying to piece everything together. When had she discovered the truth?
Why hadn’t she said anything before leaving?
Why hadn’t she given him a chance to explain?
The news of Tessa’s departure hurt him more than he expected.
It felt as though, deep in his heart, he truly loved Tessa.
Meanwhile, back at the house, Chloe threw herself onto her bed. When she heard someone approaching, she grabbed a mug from the bedside table and hurled it across the room.
“Go away! Don’t come in!”
But when she looked up, she realized it was her mother.
Tears streamed down Chloe’s face as she collapsed into Audrey’s arms.
“What did I do wrong? Why is Tessa treating me like this?”
“Ryan likes me–what’s wrong with that? I’ve always given in to her, and what do I get in return?”
Her words carried no sense of guilt, only frustration.
Audrey looked at Chloe with a pained expression. No matter what Chloe had done, Audrey couldn’t see any fault in her–after all, to Audrey, Chloe was her real daughter.
“She’s wrong for doing this to you, Chloe. Don’t cry, my dear. Once I find Tessa, I’ll make sure she’s kicked out of the pack!”
“No one can hurt my daughter!”
Chloe quickly wiped away her tears and gazed up at Audrey with hopeful eyes.
“Mom, really?”
The thought of kicking Tessa out of the Bloodmoon pack had always been her secret wish.
Chapter 10
She knew that Tessa was the true daughter–the rightful heir to the pack. Chloe, on the other hand, had only deceived Alpha Liam and Luna Audrey to secure her place.
But with Audrey’s promise, she felt that her efforts were worth it.
Not only would she have control over the pack, but she could finally be with Ryan openly.
Chloe leaned gently into Audrey’s embrace, a small, satisfied smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
