Right after lunch, Ethan arrived. Stella put her bowl back in the kitchen, said goodbye to Nathan and the butler.
The butler smiled warmly. “Goodbye, take care on the road!”
But when he turned, he saw his employer’s eyes fixed on the girl’s back, motionless.
The butler shook his head. Poor sir.
He even pitied himself–never getting the chance to deliver those classic lines: You’re the first woman sir has ever made soup for! Or. It’s been so long since I’ve seen sir smile.
Not that his employer didn’t smile–he did, often–but usually only a polite, false one.
Stella got in the car.
Ethan handed her a lunch box. “You ate dinner early yesterday. You must be hungry by now–eat something
Yesterday’s breakfast from Tina had all ended up in Tina’s own stomach.
She hadn’t expected Ethan to bring food again today.
“I already ate,” Stella said.
Ethan caught on. The chef at Mr. Foster’s made you breakfast too?”
Stella shook her head. “He made it himself. It was delicious!”
Ethan’s eyes widened slightly. “Don’t you hate sandwiches and cereal?”
His sister had always preferred hot breakfasts–noodles, wontons, rice noodles–ever since they were kids.
These days, most working people ate cold breakfasts.
Nathan looked like the cold–breakfast type too–refined elites always did, complete with a fresh Americano.
Fastening her seatbelt, Stella said, “You have no idea–Nathan’s taste is just like mine. He likes noodles and wontons in the morning, turkey for a late–night snack. He can make them himself, and he’s really good at it!”
Ethan fiddled with the rosary on his wrist. “Who turned a billionaire into a chef?
Stella burst out laughing. I wouldn’t know. But the only reason he’s been cooking lately is because his chef’s been away.”
Ethan glanced at the villa gate. “Mr. Foster not only makes money and leads in charity, but he can also cook. What a perfect
Stella’s eyes went wide, “Ethan, don’t you go falling for Nathan–he likes women, you know that.”
Eban:
A vein twitched at Ethan’s temple. “I just mean I’ll take him as a role model. Focus solely on business.”
Stella relaxed. “That’s fine, then. Learn from him!”
Ethan nodded, started the engine, then changed the subject. “It’s strange–none of the nearby villas are for sale. Tina asked around, and no one’s selling“
At first, Stella had thought Nathan might be diflicult to get along with
But in the past two days, she’d found him very easygoing

Back in high school, he’d been distant toward her–probably because of the battle for top rank.
Now that they weren’t competing, he was warm and refined.
Bright and unclouded, like a spring breeze.

“It’s fine. Nathan’s easy to get along with. If you’re busy, you don’t have to pick me up during the day. I can stay at the villa- he won’t mind. Besides, once I’m back in school, I’ll be out all day anyway. You don’t need to buy one.”
“You could ask around, though–see if anyone knows a good doctor for sleep disorders. That’d be a real fix.
She’d seen many doctors before to no effect, but maybe someone now had a solution.
“Alright. Ethan said.
Tina took a cab to the office today.
The receptionist greeted her as usual. “Morning, Ms. Tina!”
Tina nodded. “Morning”
Then the receptionist noticed something unusual–Ms Tina, who rarely wore jewelry, had a sparkling gold bracelet on her
wrist.
“Ms. Tina, are you getting married?” she asked with a smile.
Tina frowned. “Why do you ask?”
The receptionist glanced at her wrist. That bracelet looks like part of a traditional wedding set
Of course, wearing a gold bracelet didn’t necessarily mean marriage–it was just that Ms. Tina never wore jewelry, so the bracelet stood out as something special.
Tina lifted her hand, a faint smile on her lips. “No. Stella gave it to me.”
With that, she strode off toward the elevator, eager to start work completely missing the receptionist’s starry–eyed expression.
The receptionist immediately sent a message to the gossip group.
“Ahhh! Stella gave Ms. Tina a big gold bracelet! Ms. Tina treasures it so much she’s wearing it to work! I’m dying from how
sweet this is!”
Replies came flooding in.
