She typed back. Thanks. It’s pretty late–get some rest.”
Quinton replied quickly, “I’m still working on a test paper.”
A moment later, a photo came through. It was a math test.
Stella scanned through the problems, her brows furrowing. “Go to bed. You didn’t get a single one right.”
Might as well not have done it at all.
Quinton: “No way! Let me check the answers.
He hadn’t expected his hour of hard work to be dismissed so bluntly.
And she had replied just minutes after he sent the photo.
Was she being too hasty?
It was a practice test he’d bought himself and was trying for the first time today.
Flipping to the answer key at the back, he checked them one by one.
A minute later, the sky fell.
Not a single answer was correct!
“Didn’t know you were a genius! I’m impressed! By the way, which school do you go to again?”
Stella laughed. “Don’t stick your nose into grown–up matters.”
“Who are you chatting with?”
Nathan noticed the curve of the girl’s lips, his elegant brows knitting slightly.
“From First High, you don’t know him.” Stella set her phone down and went back to eating turkey.

Under the table, Nathan’s hand clenched, reopening the cut on his palm as his nails dug in. His long lashes hid the darkness. in his eyes.
She still liked Lucas. To get close to him, she’d first approached Jackson.
But what could he do?
If Lucas died, Sparkle would be sad.
At least Lucas hadn’t met Sparkle yet
If only they could never meet
His lashes lifted, and hus deep, shadowed gaze fell on the girl
She was bent over her bowl of noodles, the pale, delicate line of her neck exposed.
He wanted to lock her away so she would never meet Lucas
She suddenly felt a strange chill on her neck, damp and cold.
Stella looked up to see the handsome man push his glasses up with one finger. The tiny mole on his hugh nose bridge was dangerously alluring. He smiled gently. “Want more?”
The dining table wasn’t big, and they sat close. Stella found herself dazed by Nathan’s godlike looks again, just like now.

She quickly brushed off the odd sensation. “No, this is enough. Listen, thank you.
After her shower. Stella sprawled across the bed. legs raised straight in the air as she did weight–loss exercises.
It was her way of making up for the late–night snack–more psychological than anything else.
Staring at the ceiling, she thought she’d discovered another one of Nathan’s strengths.
He was a great cook!
The next day came quickly.
In the morning, Stella came downstairs to find Nathan in the kitchen again.
Apparently, the chef had business elsewhere.
She helped herself to a big plate of tacos.
When she was done, her eyes lit up. “I rarely see this kind of filling. Where did you buy it?”
Today, Nathan wore a white suit with gold–rimmed glasses, looking pure and refined.
The butler mixed it himself.” he said warmly.
Stella gave the butler a big thumbs–up. “You’re amazing!
The butler’s mouth twitched. “Overpraise, overpraise!”
It really was overpraise–he hadn’t made it at all.
Nathan had ordered the ingredients yesterday, gotten up early, and prepared the filling himself.
A billionaire making wontons at dawn–just as impressive as simmering soup the night before.
A sight unheard of!
The butler couldn’t figure out why his employer didn’t just admit it.
This morning, he’d finally asked.
Nathan’s long, slender fingers worked the wonton wrappers as he replied in a calm tone, “She doesn’t like me.”
That single sentence almost brought tears to the butler’s eyes, stabbing at his heart.
So that was it.
If someone doesn’t like you, no matter what you do, it’s just self–satisfaction–and to them, pure pressure.
So to avoid making her uncomfortable, the gentleman never said a word, only quietly treated her well.
The butler sniffled. His employer was living out pure love in the prime of his life!

It reminded him of when he’d bring breakfast to the girl he liked back in college–and also bring a portion for her boyfriend.
And when he’d paid rent for the girl he liked after graduation so she could live with her boyfriend
Turns out the high–and–mighty gentleman was just like him!
In their eyes, love was grand, no matter what anyone else thought
