Seeing such a touching reunion unfold before him, even Ethan–who always wore a cold, unreadable face in front of others -felt his eyes grow red.
Hannah and her assistant stood dumbfounded, exchanging confused glances
What the hell was going on?
And more importantly, her situation still hadn’t been dealt with!
time feeling like a complete
For someone used to being the center of attention, the focus of every room, it was Hannah’s first tim afterthought. No one seemed to care whether she stayed or left.
But there was one person who did care.
Stella.

After wrapping up a few emotional words with the elders, Stella turned her clear, icy gaze to Hannah.
“You just said we were blaming the victim, didn’t you?”
Hannah had already been unsure of herself when facing Stella one–on–one. Now, with everyone on Stella’s side, her confidence crumbled even further.
Still, she’d been in the spotlight long enough to mask her nerves.
“Isn’t it true? You’re the one who hit me, aren’t you?”
She’d done her research–there were no cameras inside this office. She knew that before she ever opened her mouth.
So as long as no hard proof existed, they were all just biased. This was just everyone ganging up on her.
But Stella raised an eyebrow and pulled out her phone, opening the audio recording that had been running since the moment Hannah entered the room.
I played: “What right do you have to keep Ethan from me? You’re the other woman, aren’t you? Don’t blame me for being nasty. Even if you’ve already slept with him…”
The recording ended with a loud, resounding slap.
Originally, Stella had only planned to share this with Ethan–to snap him out of his love–struck fog. But now it had to be public.
The four elders were livid, staring Hannah down.
Elder A clutched her chest in fury. “You heard that? Still claiming you’re innocent? You insulted her, threatened her, humiliated her–and Stella still held back! If it were me, I’d have slapped you even harder!”
Elder B rolled up his sleeves. “If I weren’t against hitting women, I’d have decked you myself!”
Elder C narrowed his eyes. “Stella mentioned you liked Lucas, and you didn’t even deny it. If you love him, what are you? doing bothering Ethan?”
Elder D nodded. “Exactly. Every time Ethan’s wrapped up in your drama, he drops everything at work just to keep you happy. You almost cost a bunch of people their jobs!”
Ethan’s fury surged like fire up his spine.
How could Hannah think like this? So dirty–minded…
And if she really did have feelings for Lucas, then everything she’d done with him recently–what had it all been for? A dark shadow passed through his eyes. He took a deep breath, fiddling with the bracelet on his wrist to calm himself.

Hannah’s face went paper white, her eyes wide with panic.
She clung to a final hope. “No, no, it’s not like that–please, it’s not!”
Stella’s tone stayed even and cold. “So, what do you think would happen if 1 posted this recording online?”
It was like a bomb exploded over Hannah’s head.
She shook her head frantically, shoulders trembling in fear. “Don’t! Please–please don’t post it!”
If that recording got out, her career in entertainment would be completely over.
Trying to incite fans to cyberbully someone? If the fans found out, they’d destroy her.
She was finished.
In a panic, she lunged forward, trying to snatch the phone out of Stella’s hand.
But Tina stepped in front of her, voice sharp as ice. “Hands off.”

Stella’s pale fingers held the phone casually as she peeked out from behind Tina’s shoulder. “I’m giving you a chance to come clean. Tell us what were your real intentions with Ethan these past few weeks?”

Hannah saw the tiniest flicker of mercy and clung to it. She blurted the truth: “Lucas and I had a fight. He didn’t come to make up with me, so I thought if I stirred up some scandal with Ethan, it might piss him off.”
Stella turned to Ethan. “You heard that?”
Ethan’s face was flushed with both fury and shame. He kept his head down and muttered. “Yeah.”
Stella slid her phone back into her pocket and looked at Hannah. “If you’ve got relationship drama, keep it behind closed doors. Don’t drag other people into it
On TikTok, they say when a novel’s leads fight, all it takes is a hateful act to fix it.
Seeing Stella’s tone soften a little, Hannah quickly nodded. “I get it. I won’t go near Ethan again!”
But one thing still bothered her. “Are you really Ethan’s sister?”
She had never, ever seen Ethan behave this way around a woman before.
Sure, she’d manipulated him plenty–but he had never looked so small, so stsbmissive.
Before Stella could even respond, Elder C–fresh off being complimented as handsome–burst out indignantly, “Of course she ist People with a filthy heart see filth in everything. Stella isn’t like you–she’s not even in the same league!”
