People like him couldn’t stand having their authority challenged.Especially someone as ruthless as this–he’d even sent his own uncle to jail without hesitation. Whodared call him out in public? It’d be suicide.
At moments like this, silence was the smartest move.
Tina sat at the back, struggling with whether or not to speak. In the end, she said nothing.
She was just a special assistant. She couldn’t cross the line.
Everyone in the conference room was watching Ethan. He was used to being the center of attention.
But today, for some reason, there was an invisible weight pressing down on him. A faint chill crawled down the back of his
neck.
He subconsciously twirled the bracelet on his right wrist with his left hand, brushing away the odd feeling.
Just as he turned to leave, long legs striding toward the door-
A crisp, clear voice rang out from the back of the TOOM
“Ethan! Stop right there!”
The words cut through the air like glass–everyone in the room heard them loud and clear.
Every head turned instinctively toward the source,
They saw a striking, elegant girl standing at the very back of the room.
And everyone was stunned.
Who was that? Why didn’t they recognize her?
And–she’d just called the CEO by name?!
Was she out of her mind? Wasn’t she afraid of being thrown out?
The two employees who had been whispering about Hannah gaped.
When had this girl even entered the room? What department was she from)
She told the CEO to stop and he did?
No way.
But Ethan, hearing that voice–familiar, but cold and sharp–froze like he’d been struck by lightning.
He didn’t dare move
He slowly turned around and saw her. Standing tall at the back of the room, face ice–cold.
His heart sank. His hand holding the phone was instantly slick with sweat
When she smiled, she lit up the room, warm and radiant.
But when her expression turned cold, she was stunning–sharp, unapproachable, and terrifying.
Everyone in the room watched in disbelief as Ethan actually obeyed.
Then, in total silence, the girl began walking forward, step by step, toward him.
No one dared breathe

She walked past rows of executives, every eye following her until she stood in front of Ethan
Something in their shared blood made the pressure unbearable. Ethan’s spine went rigid. He wanted to flee.
But pride kept him rooted.
Still his fingers nervously fiddled with the bracelet on his wrist.
Stella stopped right in front of him Her cold gaze pinned him down.
She noticed him avoiding eye contact, fidgeting with the bracelet
Her brow furrowed.
The next second, she reached out–and yanked the bracelet right off his wrist.
A collective gasp swept through the room.
Holy cow.She actually tore off his bracelet. This woman’s on another level. Alpha of all females.
Even Tina’s eyes widened slightly. Her pulse skipped a beat.
Doing this in front of the whole company–no matter if she was his sister, Ethan had to be mad, right?
Men valued pride more than their own lives.
Especially that bracelet–Ethan never took it off. He even slept with it on.
But Ethan wasn’t angry at all. In fact, he quietly let out a breath of relief.
Because when Stella had reached toward him, he’d honestly thought she was going to slap him
And if she had, he would’ve just stood there and taken it.
So really, losing the bracelet was nothing.
Stella squeezed the black bracelet in her palm, the cool touch helping her stay grounded.
She resisted the overwhelming urge to transform into an eight–armed octopus and slap Ethan in all directions.
Instead, she gritted out one line.
“You absolute scum. Get back there and finish your damn meeting
She said it like it was nothing
Ethan quietly turned back, shoulders drooping slightly, and walked toward the head of the table.
Seeing that his sister was still standing, he motioned to the plush leather chair beside him. “Sit here.”
“Secretary, bring me another chair.”
Everyone in the room was speechless.
Mairis M… Hormal?
Stella shot him a glare. “I’m not sitting there. I’ll stay in the back.”
“That chair’s for someone with capability and responsibility. And clearly, you’re lacking both. You can stand for the rest of the meeting.”
Ethan winced. His shoulders tensed as he lowered his head, like a child getting scolded. “Okay.”
Everyone in the room was speechless.

Chapter 18 The Queen Walks In
Everyone in the conference room turned to look at Stella.
Stella didn’t panic. She calmly slipped the black bracelet onto her slender wrist.
Bracing both hands on the table, she gave the room a warm smile.
“Hi, everyone. I’m Stella, your CEO’s older sister. Don’t be confused–yes, I know I look younger and better–looking than him, but I really am his sister.”
Thank you all for everything you’ve done for the company over the years. I’m sure you’ve seen what my brother is capable of. But I’ll admit, he’s made some pretty questionable decisions lately, so I hope you’ll all bear with him.”
“And as a token of appreciation for your patience, I’m giving out two million as bonuses for the entire company: From now on, please keep an eye on him–make sure he runs this place properly! If he screws up again, call me. I’ll come back and beat his ass
The room had been dead silent a second ago.
The next second, thunderous applause exploded throughout the conference room.
This CEO’s sister was the real deal!
She might not look old enough to be his big sister, but with that presence! No doubt about it.
Ethan stood frozen, staring at Stella as she spoke.
In that moment, she didn’t seem like an eighteen–year–old girl at all. She was composed, confident, sharp, and fearless.
The overhead lights fell on her, but even they couldn’t outshine her.
Suddenly, Ethan understood how she’d convinced the company elders, back when she was just fourteen, not to side with their second uncle
There was a power in her that made people listen,
But she was only eighteen–an age that should be carefree and dreamy.
How did she end up like this?
Because after their parents died, she had no choice but to step up.
She didn’t want her three younger brothers getting bullied. She believed that as their big sister, she had to set the example. So she forced herself to become this version of herself.
Back when their parents were still around, she was the pampered little princess of the family.
So delicate, she wouldn’t even pour herself a glass of water.
After everyone left, she was the one wielding the mop, chasing off trouble, putting her brothers to bed before sneaking off for a shower and some rest.
A sharp pain twisted in Ethan’s chest. His fists clenched without him realizing.
What the hell had he been doing?
He was older than her now. He should’ve been the one taking care of her.
Why did she still have to worry about him?
He was the one who’d dropped the ball.
What Stella had just done–this was her helping him win back trust and loyalty.
