But the empty house didn’t answer him at all, only silence upon silence.
Asher stood in the middle of the living room, unaware that his heart was trembling.
Everyone exchanged glances, confused about what was happening with Asher and why he was suddenly acting this way.
But Asher exuded a chill, and no one dared to approach him.
So they nudged Daphne, “Daphne, what’s going on with CEO Asher?”
“Should you go check on him?”
“Yeah, it seems like CEO Asher is looking for something?”
Someone whispered, “Didn’t CEO Asher stop liking Cora long ago? Why is he looking for her?”
“Yeah, Cora already quit. What’s he looking for her for?”
The murmurs reached Asher’s ears, but he wasn’t in the mood to listen.
All he could think about was where am I going, why did I take off the ring.
For the first time, panic began to seep into his heart. It felt like something was slipping away from him, the pounding of his heart echoing in his ears, almost deafening.
Asher grabbed the documents and the ring from the table and rushed to my room.
Since Daphne returned to the country, Asher and I have been sleeping in separate rooms.
Asher said Daphne might misunderstand, and she’d be upset.
But he never considered if I’d be sad or unhappy, even though I was his fiancée.
Back then, I should have realized this was Daphne’s way of putting me in my place.
But foolishly, I thought that once Asher and I got married, everything would improve, and he would change.
But in reality?
Asher just kept pushing my boundaries, hurting me over and over again.
And all it took was a word from Daphne.
Seeing Asher’s frantic state, Daphne secretly rejoiced, thinking this might be her chance.
“Asher, she called softly.
“Don’t worry about her for now. Who knows where she went.”
Daphne approached Asher, trying to stop him, but he shook her off.
With a strong force, Daphne stumbled against the wall, her whole body feeling like it was about to fall apart. She gasped in pain, “That hurts.”
The man who should have immediately comforted her didn’t even seem to hear her, not sparing her a single glance.
Daphne put on a pitiful look, tears in her eyes, “You hurt me, can you make it better?”
Before, as long as her eyes welled up with tears, no matter what, Asher would agree to her.
Even on the night of our engagement, if she asked Asher to abandon me for her, he would do it.

Even un tire mym on vur engagement, in she asked Aster to avatar me for net, the wuuu uu it.
Past events proved that Asher’s affection for her surpassed everything.
But now, Asher actually laid a hand on her, which was something she couldn’t accept.
“Asher, you hurt me!” Daphne repeated, unwilling to give up, chasing after him despite the pain, but when she couldn’t keep up, she could only squat down and clutch her abdomen.
Someone came forward to check on her, “Daphne, are you okay?”
“Does it hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?”
Daphne shook her head, completely unable to understand why Asher suddenly had such a cold attitude.
She hesitated and turned to her friend, “What did Asher see to react like that?”
The person was Asher’s Secretary and naturally knew about Asher’s affairs.
Without thinking, she said, “It was CEO Asher’s prenup agreement.”
“CEO Asher’s Grandmother had him sign it back then, and I was the one who gave it to Cora to sign. I don’t know why she didn’t have it
notarized.”
“Could it be that she doesn’t want billions in assets?”
The Secretary looked surprised, seemingly unable to comprehend it.
But Daphne was inwardly elated, “Does this mean Cora won’t marry Asher?”
I was the one who gave up, and she was ready to be the mistress.
Now that the opportunity was in front of her, how could she not seize it?
She even thought about running to my face to laugh at me.
Seeing the smile on her face, the Secretary was puzzled, “Are you happy they’re not getting married?”
“Weren’t you always hoping they’d get married?”
