Adrian clenched his fists, his bloodshot eyes brimming with unshed tears. Unable to contain himself, he smashed the computer onto the floor.
He kicked over a wine tower, shattering the large screen, grabbing the documents scattered amongst the broken glass, crumpling them in his hands. Blood stained the white paper, dripping onto the floor.
He suddenly laughed.
A laugh filled with tears.
“Jasmine, you must hate me, right? You’ll never forgive me…”
“How could I be so arrogant as to think I could keep it from you?”
Adrian stumbled backward, his heart feeling like it was being sliced open by a dull knife, the pain spreading through his body, making him want to die.
Rosalie stood there, dumbfounded. The usually composed Adrian had lost his mind.
She dared not speak, her breathing shallow. She wanted to escape.

Suddenly, Adrian looked at her, making her body tremble.
“Adrian… don’t be sad. Jasmine will come back. If she’s unhappy, I can leave,” she said, forcing a smile, her alluring face filled with terror.
Adrian sneered, walking towards her.“You’re not going anywhere. You’re staying by my side.”
Relieved that he had regained some composure, Rosalie felt a little reassured. Adrian still loved her. But his next words sent chills down her spine.
“Once I’ve uncovered all your crimes, I’ll make you experience what it means to suffer.”
A flash of killing intent crossed Adrian’s usually gentle face. He ordered his men to take Rosalie away.
Rosalie fell silent, only pleading for mercy after being dragged out of the ballroom.
“Adrian, I’m innocent…”
Adrian closed his eyes, unable to shake the images he’d seen–Jasmine’s pale face haunting him like a curse.
He fought to regain his composure, leaving the ballroom.
He instructed his assistant to find out who bought Pinecrest Manor, willing to pay any price to get it back.
“Mr. Thorne, we meet again so soon,” the lawyer said, a mocking tone in his voice, looking at the haggard Adrian.“Do you think buying back Pinecrest Manor will atone for your mistakes?”
“Enough nonsense. Three times the price. Sell it to me,” Adrian said, his face grim.
“It’s not for sale.”
“It will be. You’re just a small–time lawyer. What can you do against the Thorne Family? Ten times the price. You have one day to hand it over to my assistant, Adrian threatened coldly.
”
The lawyer smirked and stood up to leave.“Mr. Thorne can try. I have other things to attend to.”
Adrian narrowed his eyes, fixing his gaze on the lawyer’s back.“Do you know where my wife is? Your delivering the documents means you’re in
contact with her!”
Adrian’s voice rose in agitation.“Where is my
“Mr. Thorne, you and Jasmine aren’t married. Legally, you have no right to call her your wife; morally, you don’t deserve to,” the lawyer said coldly.
His words were like daggers, piercing Adrian’s heart. Adrian took a deep breath.“My business with my wife is none of your concern. You only
need to tell me where she is.”
The lawyer walked away without replying. Adrian chased after him, grabbing his shoulder to stop him.

The lawyer angrily shrugged him off. Adrian grabbed the lawyer’s collar again.“I’ll give you one more chance. Tell me where she is?”
“You don’t deserve to know.”
Adrian punched the lawyer. The lawyer retaliated, throwing Adrian off balance. He stumbled into a glass door.
He crashed through, cutting his head, his suit ripped to shreds.
Blood instantly covered his face, obscuring his vision, a wave of dizziness washing over him. He blacked out.
