Chapter 8
The day I returned LA, news of Ravenscroft Group’s bankruptcy broke.
Standing downstairs, I felt a bit dazed.
This company I’d helped Dante build from the ground up had finally come to this because of our shattered relationship.
But it didn’t matter–I’d come back to make it rise again in a different form.]
After meeting with the original shareholders and finalizing the details, I ran straight into Dante as I was leaving.[]
I thought I was seeing things.]
I ignored him and turned to leave. But he grabbed my arm desperately.[]
“Celia, I know I fucked up. I really do.”
“Please give me another chance? I got cheated before, that’s why I did all that awful shit. I promise I’ll treat you better from now on. Trust me.”
He looked nothing like his former self–unshaven, exhausted, completely broken down.
I looked away coldly.
“No need. Your damage can’t be erased with a simple ‘sorry. You love Ashley Green, don’t you? Now I’m stepping aside so you two can be together.“]
I walked away without another word.]
Dante panicked and dropped to his knees right there on the street.[]
“Celia, don’t go! Give me a chance to explain, please.”
“I don’t love her, Celia, I’m trying to tell you–after all these ups and downs, I finally understand that you’re the one I really love. I just never realized it before.“[]
“I know I hurt you badly. I’ll spend the rest of my life making amends. Please forgive me.”

I stared down at him coldly.
“Love me? You tried to kill me over and over again all these years, and now you’re telling me you love me?“]
“Why the hell should I forgive you? Dante, you murdered seven of my kids. You even… you even watched Ashley dissect them. Those were your children too!How could you bear to…”
“I saw all those videos. I watched every single one carefully. I wanted to remember that hatred. I want you and Ashley to pay for what you did.“]
“Let go of ine. Meeting you was the biggest regret of my life. You make me fucking sick.“[]
My words drained all color from Dante’s face. Tears fell without warning.]]
His eyes were full of pleading, begging me to forgive him.
“Ill make amends, 111-“]
I didn’t listen to the rest. I turned and left.]
His voice grew fainter behind me until I couldn’t hear it anymore.[]
The next day, I received the signed divorce papers Dante had sent.]
That afternoon, the police station reported that he’d turned himself in.[]
For repeatedly hiring people to try to kill me. He also exposed Ashley as his accomplice, and she was arrested.]
When Ashley’s husband found out, he immediately flew back and filed for divorce.[]
This Ravenscroft scandal, which had lasted over a month, created wave after wave of online outrage.]
It finally ended with both central figures behind prison.[]
I registered my firm as a proper company, and Ravenscroft’s original shareholders joined one by one. 0
Just as the company was thriving, Sophia came looking for me
She’d been arrested for deliberately injuring Ashley, but apparently got some kind of settlement.]

She was only held for a few days before being released.]]
Now she came to me hoping I’d take care of her in her old age.]]
*Celia, sweetie, I was deceived by that bitch Ashley before. That’s why I treated you so badly. It’s my fault.“[]
“Is this your company? How impressive! I always knew you were destined for great things.“[]
“Honey, where are you living now? I’ll come home with you in a bit.“[]
I looked at her with contempt and turned away.[]
“Security, get this woman out of here.“Her cursing voice echoed behind me.]]
But it grew fainter and fainter.]
Sophia had never truly cared about me, yet now she naively thought she could latch onto me. How fucking ridiculous![]
I was being merciful by not kicking her while she was down.[]
Let her count the days waiting for her precious son to get out of prison and keep her company.]
Hope she lives long enough to wait that day…[]
