Dante frowned, clearly annoyed.]
“Didn’t I teach you to stay calm under pressure? What the hell are you panicking for?“]
“The company stock started crashing this morning, and the internet’s going crazy saying you and Miss Green are murderers!“]]
Dante grabbed the phone from his assistant, his eyes scanning rapidly.
Online, everyone was talking about how he’d murdered his wife for his mistress, causing her seven miscarriages, complete with evidence posted everywhere.[]
Looking closer, Dante realized the so–called evidence was all his and Ashley’s chat records.
Realizing what this meant, he turned to his assistant,
“Contact Celia immediately! If she comes forward, we can still turn this around.“]
“The PR department tried reaching Mrs. Ravenscroft this morning, but her phone’s been disconnected!“]]
Dante roared, “Then fucking find her! Go to my house!“]]
He pulled out his phone, frantically sending me messages, only to discover I’d blocked him.
For some reason, he had the sinking feeling this was just the beginning.
Panic was starting to set in.]
The assistant had barely left when he came running back, face pale, clutching documents.]
“Mr. Ravenscroft, someone just delivered these.”
Dante took them from his assistant. The first document he saw was divorce papers.
His hands trembled.
The property division section demanded an equal split of
company shares.
Ashley watched from her hospital bed, sitting up abruptly
Dante ignored her.

Opening the second document, he found a core

Seeing this, Dante’s heart plummeted.[]

Later, when Sophia complained that I was outshining Dante everywhere, I quit company affairs to marry him.[]

He hadn’t even reached the door when his assistant called out.
“Mr. Ravenscroft, it’s a mob scene out there–reporters. If you go out like this… maybe you should disguise yourself.”
Years of being in power had made Dante too proud to hide. He walked out with his head held high.[]
Instantly, reporters and angry citizens swarmed him–some worried about their stock losses, others outraged on my behalf…]
By the time Dante got home, his head was dripping with coffee.[]
Sophia was cowering in the living room corner, terrified by the crowd at the front door.
“Mom, where’s Celia?“]]
“That jinx? She left last night after you carried Ashley away. Why are you asking about her?“[]
“What’s going on with those people outside? They’re holding signs, chanting about murderers! What the hell’s happening?”
“Did that bitch Celia kill someone?!“]]
“Dante, you need to divorce her right now!“]]
Dante didn’t answer. He called his secretary and demanded they trace my movements from last night until now.]
Through security footage from the neighborhood and airport, the secretary confirmed I’d left the country.[]
