Adeline looked into the child’s arms and saw that he was holding a pile of toys, with another pile at his feet. She suddenly remembered that the
child’s mother had passed away, and these toys were the last remembrance she had left for him.
Adeline made a decision right away. She asked the male teacher to hold the child and go first, and she would follow later. She promised the child that she would bring all these toys back to school for him.
After the male teacher left with the child in his arms, Adeline quickly picked up the sack and packed all the toys into it. Just as she was about to lift the toys and leave, a mudslide suddenly crashed through the window!
Time suddenly froze, and a rigid fear gripped Adeline tightly. In her eyes, there was only the muddy, viscous sludge carrying broken wood and stones, roaring as it overflowed the windowsill like the mouth of hell opening. The putrid smell of earth instantly filled her nostrils, suffocating every inch of Adeline’s breath.
My mind went blank, my body felt like all the bones had been sucked out of it, and I lay limp, watching helplessly as the wave of death surged towards me.
Just then, a figure broke through the surging muddy water, cutting through the chaos of destruction, and pounced towards her!
Adeline’s eyes widened in an instant.
Hugo, how did he come here?!
Adeline watched in horror as Hugo suddenly stopped in his tracks, turned around, his eyes blazing, instantly locking onto Adeline in the corner.

He didn’t even say a word more. Suddenly, he bent down, his shoulder fiercely pressing against Adeline’s abdomen. The immense force lifted Adeline off the ground, and in the midst of the spinning world, she was already thrown onto Hugo’s shoulder like a piece of luggage that couldn’t
be abandoned.
Hugo’s body erupted with astonishing strength, carrying Adeline, and charged towards the only possible way out – the wooden door leading to the neighboring hillside, and crashed heavily into it!
And in order to prevent the poultry from running out, the family added a wooden lock behind the door, tightly connecting the wooden door to the wall.
The escape route was abruptly blocked, and the disaster was gradually approaching them!
Just then, a dull and teeth–gritting tearing sound, brief as an illusion, followed by a violent tremor in Hugo’s body, a suppressed groan squeezed out from between Hugo’s clenched teeth.
Adeline’s whole body stiffened, looking down in horror, her heart
freezing suddenly – as the wooden door was pushed open, a piece of wood protruding from inside like a cold finger reaching out from hell, deeply piercing Hugo’s right side waist and abdomen!
“Hugo! Instinctively, Adeline’s hand reached out towards the area… The scalding hot liquid thickly coated her hand, no matter how she tried to conceal it, she couldn’t hide the fresh blood gushing from his wound.”
Hugo seemed to be numb to the pain, comforting her while continuing to ram into the wooden door.
With a slight click, the cold wind, carrying the scent of rain, rushed in.
The wind blew on the face like a knife, but with a precious sting of having survived a disaster.

Adeline even caught a glimpse of a corner of the leaden gray sky, the oppressive grayish–white, now glaringly bright.
The door was opened.
Hugo gritted his teeth and continued to carry Adeline up the hill, the mudslide gradually fading from her sight.
They were safe.
Adeline thought this way, suddenly her vision spun.

Carrying her Hugo, she could no longer hold on and suddenly fell to the ground, but still managed to protect her in front of her.
“Hugo!”
The sharp roar of a helicopter came from a distance.
“Help!”
Adeline took off her coat and waved it vigorously towards the distant search helicopter, waving her arms.
Soon, Hugo and Adeline were taken to the nearest hospital by helicopter. As soon as they landed, medical staff lifted Hugo onto a mobile bed and hurried towards the operating room.
Close the door, sign, press the fingerprint… Adeline felt dizzy and heavy- headed, and after completing all of this under the doctor’s guidance, she couldn’t hold on any longer. Her vision went black and she collapsed to the ground.
