Rise of The Billionaire’s Runaway Bride 65

Lucas Laurier and Alexander King stood by the edge of the equestrian center, their gazes complicated as they watched the distance. Having seen Isabella Jackson grow up, they had long believed she was the most suitable match for Ethan Sullivan.

“Ethan,” Alexander hesitated before speaking, “Isabella’s back. What are you going to do about your relationship with Evelyn?”

Ethan’s eyes turned icy in an instant.

“Her return has nothing to do with me.”

Alexander pressed on, unwilling to let it go. “But everyone knows you two used to—”

“Enough.” Ethan’s voice was sharp as frost. “Leave the past in the past.”

Lucas quickly intervened. “Ethan, Alexander’s just concerned about you. After all, Evelyn is—”

“She’s fine,” Ethan cut him off. “Mind your own business.”

The atmosphere froze instantly.

Alexander opened his mouth but ultimately didn’t dare say another word.

Meanwhile, on the field.

Isabella and Lily White had Evelyn Sullivan cornered from both sides.

“Sister,” Isabella smiled sweetly, “your horse seems a bit unruly.”

Without warning, Lily raised her whip and lashed it toward Evelyn’s horse.

The startled animal bolted forward.

Evelyn swiftly tightened the reins, regaining control. She turned her head coldly, watching as the two rode after her with malicious grins.

“You’re asking for trouble.”

Evelyn deliberately steered her horse toward a secluded area.

When the three came to a stop in the corner, Lily was the first to strike.

“Evelyn Sullivan, it’s time to settle our last score!”

Isabella pretended to mediate. “Lily, I’m sure my sister didn’t mean it. Evelyn, just apologize to her.”

Evelyn scoffed. “What a lovely little act you two have.”

Lily’s face twisted in anger as she raised her whip again, aiming for Evelyn’s face.

The whip sliced through the air with a sharp whistle.

A glint of satisfaction flashed in Isabella’s eyes before she feigned shock, covering her mouth.

Just as the whip was about to land—

Evelyn dodged effortlessly. Lily only felt a sharp pain in her wrist before she was sent crashing to the ground.

Amid the rising dust, Evelyn looked down at them with eyes colder than ice.
